Deal Thread URL: [For Sale] - MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WIFI (R1200) - READ CONDITION | AMD
Seller: @Marilyn
Buyer: @betrieb
Description of Bad Deal: I asked a number of detailed questions related to the faults on the board from the seller before buying the MB via WhatsApp. I also asked for pictures of the CPU socket to make sure that it looks OK.
The seller did not disclose that the plastic CPU holding mechanism is totally broken off. Instead he sent me a picture at an angle where you cannot see that the plastic is just lying on it loosely but actually is totally broken off. Once the broken off holding mechanism is removed one can see that quite a bit of trauma was caused on some of the individual pin sockets on the CPU socket. I took detailed pictures of this (see below). Even the plastic ridges between the individual pin sockets were broken off and scratched where the damage occurred. This can be seen with the naked eye and was not disclosed.
In my opinion the obvious physical damage to the CPU socket was not disclosed, instead the post focused on the USB overcurrent warning in the bios. I don't know how this board would even post minding that there is no way to hold a CPU in place since the plastic mechanism holding the CPU is totally broken. I think the post deliberately left out the fact the the socket is ruined as this makes the board pretty much unfixable. The post was therefore misleading at best but actually pretty fraudulent.
About 2 hours after having received the board on 7 Feb I took pictures and raised the issue with @Marilyn via Whatsapp. He has not replied to me since. I sent the board back to him shortly after and sent him courier tracking etc to keep him in the loop that I'm returning it. He did not acknowledge nor did he reply to any of my messages.
