Sweet, how many players are on there usually? I haven't bought the game on my new steam account yet so can't go check myselfYip. on the Nag server for PVPVE.
It's actually quite active. About 20 ppl from different clans etc. but there are a crap ton of people on the cluster on various maps. We are based on Rag but there are quite a few tribes based on other maps. It can be upto 40ish people when a big fight breaks out.Sweet, how many players are on there usually? Great to hear.. Thanks for the info. Will definitely be checking it out once I've bought the game again[emoji38]It's actually quite active. Defended our base yesterday. It was about 10 people in total from both sides attacking each other.
I stopped playing this quite some time ago, had so many bugs and didn't seem like it got any better, would log out and then come back only to find my dinos walked right through the walls and their holding pen to end up being eaten by predators. Has it gotten any better yet?
Thread may be a bit dead but I see now ARK has just gone on sale on Steam for 60% off. Currently going at R107.60 as opposed to the regular R269.00 if anyone is interested in getting it.
Actually you can, if you go on steam, under view - servers. Just check for the server thereSweet, how many players are on there usually? I haven't bought the game on my new steam account yet so can't go check myself
Extinction is awesomeGoing to be purchasing Ark Survival Evolved. Will play it tonight while its free to see if its worth the buy.
Would it be worth getting the extinction or scorched earth expansion pack as well?
Extinction is awesome
Scorched, Not soo much in my personal opinion.
most servers are clustered so you can take dinos from one map to the other. But ragnarock is free and it has most of the dinos if not all from scorched earth.
And scorched is dumb to start on. spend the 1st hour of you time on that map dying and running away from things that will most likely catch up to you and kill you anyway.
Thanks for the feedback.
Regarding Extinction, is there a big difference between the base game and Extinction?
I havnt played the game yet. Will most probably play the first time tonight
Quite a bit of a difference. If you start on the "default" map called "The island" then there is quite a bit of a difference compared to extinction,Abberation and Scorched earth.
But there is also "The centre" and "Ragnarock" Both maps are free and have quite a few of the creatures from the expansion maps. I think there are a few creatures from Abberation and now Extinction that you won't be able to find on any of the other maps.
Play the base game. Start on the default map and see if you like it. It's not for everyone but it's worth a shot if its free for a while.
I don't blame you. I found Rust to be a bit of a ball ache when they started implementing tool cupboards that needed to be constantly refilled with resources. Kinda put me off grinding for materials to build up my base when I had to use most of those mats to fill up a TC (or multiple) that'll only last a day or 2. I understand it's to eradicate inactive players but damn, it gets a bit much.Im buying it while its on discount.
A little bored of RUST to be honest. So thought this may be more entertaining

I'm pretty sure it's the same story in ark. Well, from what I remember when I used to play. I've heard from friends who are still very much into it that you'll get tribes who'll server hop and just raid and raid until there's nothing left. It's also possible to transport items/dinos across servers, which tends to happen after a raid such as the one I mentioned above. Ah well, all is fair in love and war I suppose.Ye the filling of the ToolCupboard is quite time consuming. Grafting for materials is very time consuming. You spend 80% of your game play hacking at a tree or mining stone.
Also trying to find enough scrap to do stuff is rough. 500 scrap for an item is ridiculous.
They have made quite alot of new updates lately though which is nice. They slowly implementing electricity
Loot drops, Loot Barge ship, Scuba diving Loot, NPC's.
But theres always a team of 5-15 and they dominate the island.. (not sure if this is similar in Ark?)

I feel you as a Rust player playing every day after work and trying to dedicate loads of time to play Rust on weekends. I Am also tired of the same GFX and same items/gameplay BUT Ark is a kak game. Can't compare that shit game with rust. I'll rather play Unturned (free to play game) than play ArkYa I didn't think it would be any different haha
Ohwell atleast its a fresh new look. Tired of looking at the same Rust Items/Graphics
You see, stuff like this makes me love these PvE survival games. I am really keen to start up a Carbonite Ark group/discord where we can all jam. Does something like this exist already?well the servers have to be in a cluster. You can't take stuff from one cluster to another.
But yes, I've had people come from a server on the cluster to ours to raid. Yea it sucks a bit but you learn to get better and defend properly or be more clever about how you do things.
I also stopped playing a few years ago, because life happened. I was in a "clan" and we used to wipe servers completely from the ground up. Nothing was left standing. 50+ people log in at once and the alphas would always try take us out early. But a 5-20 man alpha tribe could definitely not take on 50+ people with the sole goal of wiping the server entirely. Fun times
HAHA why do you say its kak? Yo make me not want it nowI feel you as a Rust player playing every day after work and trying to dedicate loads of time to play Rust on weekends. Don't listen to the lefties!HAHA why do you say its kak? Yo make me not want it now
I Tried it and i didn't know what the fuck was going on around me. The game makes no sense. Farming is shit and base building with fucking drakes makes no sense at mother fucking allHAHA why do you say its kak? Yo make me not want it now
