So personally, I'm not sure how long term or stable the esports scene is with battleroyals vs the longevity that dota and cs have experienced

You should see how people play high ranked Apex, like Platinum 2 and up, they just move zone to zone find a building and set up a full Wattson perimeter with Caustic traps too.

Is this seriously what I have to look forward to from Gold and up now

Is it fair to compare a BR KD with that of a different type of shooter? It's just as pointless to compare win ratio??

I've played pubg competitively and can say 100% that BR's can be competitive. You just have to do them right. I'm interested to see if apex can do it right as well.

Had the funniest kill in one of the games over the weekend...drew first blood by killing a guy with a blind thermite grenade through down the stairs in that area with the narrow corridors and staircases. Team had no weapons....threw the thermite grenade, then popped smoke and rushed them...took out an armed squad with only meelee attacks. was just too funny!
Started Playing Pathfinder now to get to grips with him, due to his low profile perk (harder to hit)...and have surprisingly got a good amount of kills with him...good to use for surprise attacks when the rest of my squad is being attacked.

What do you think of apex esports with custom servers. Do you think esports will break the meta and they will need to readjust everything?

I think that could be a very viable option if they:

1) Decrease the circle times significantly, thus increasing the loot speed and frantic nature of getting what you need and moving to the next safe area.

2) Make sure the circle hurts like a mofo from the get go to flush out the fence sitters who will 3rd party form outside the ring.

Their 1st iteration of this at the end of season 1 was amazing up until they nerfed the damage because of complaints...

This will make games short and sweet to give teams ample time to rake up wins or kills etc for points but also make it quick enough for us as an audience to see plenty of firefights all the time.

It's pretty much already custom servers with pro players because those are the guys in Diamond and Apex Predator.

If you watch any high ranked person stream the kill feed is all teams, the whole time you see NRG, TSM, SEN, Liquid, C9 etc etc and they keep getting put into the same lobbies because the high rank pool is so small so it's basically scrims the whole time.

oooh...seems like i missed that...need to read the change logs in future!!
still been fun to play with though. Aah...i see alot of people are not happy with the hitbox fix and the 5% additional damage. Some shooters still have a problem hitting Pathfinder in a one on one combat when they dont have time for precision.

Mine went from 1.88 to I think 1.72 and I'm about 30RP away from Platinum.

If that's your 'lifetime' K/D then you certainly arnt a slouch with getting kills each game lol

The only other BR I can compare my stats to is when I still played Fortnite and that I played solo mode so maybe it's not fair but there my KD was 3.7.

Will just have to keep grinding my stats up in Apex.

Depends on your play style. I would personally go with octane. He might not be a top 3 legend but he's still pretty damn good

i see there is a small 100mb patch to fix a few issues...

If you play any other style other than 'camp a building' then octane would be your next best character. Caustic can be used as an aggressive defender but that takes a helluva lot of practice and niche' to pull it off.

I was learning more towards either Octane or Wattson....Dont think Caustic would suit my style of play, besides, he offers a similar benefit to that of Gibraltar (different actives, passives and ultimates) in my opinion with both classed in the same Defender group.

Now I don't know if I like the Platinum meta, if people land with you you get into a early game fight then mid game is really boring with teams avoiding each other or just poking from far away and then late game is crazy where there is still 6 teams alive in second to last circle.

At the very top of my wishlist is actually for them to address the circles, the circles aren't RNG, there is a set list of zones it cycles through.
