Hi All,
Looking to get a tablet.
Basically need to use it for:
- Presentations on the fly;
- Taking note, replacing my hand written note (yes I still use these :))
- Daily scheduling and time management;
- Internet browsing;
- And mail support for more than one account;

Currently do my scheduling and mail on my Blackberry but it's not ideal.

I have been reading a bit and believe my choices are between the Asus Eee Transformer and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Anybody have any advise to offer.
Cheers
D

For Presentations the one with a bigger screen should be better

EEE Transformer with the keyboard dude!
A mate got one last week and its flipping awesome!

Like the fact that the Transformer has USB support.
But the Samsungs display is awesome.
Aaa decissions, decissions. :)

I have the HTC Flyer and it is awesome! look it up and compare it to the samsungs of the same size.

amm, asus's screen is better than the Samsung one, apparently. just saying.

LOL, you could be right, I've only seen the Sammy's screen still trying to find a Transformer in Slummies so I can actually compare it.

Played with the idea of a 7" tab but think the bigger screen will be better for presentations.

For that, asus is a fail,unless you want to tether the devices every time you want to connect...
In the business that you are, it will be better to short list the 3G/GSM devices, as carrying two devices are not always ideal.

yes, Honeycomb will support 3g dongle support soon in SA, so if you do wish to go wifi root only, make sure to get a android device with a USB port.

For presentation purposes, make sure you look for a device with an hdmi output so that you can present using 3rd party devices (projector, tv, etc)

Get a motion computing cl900, runs on Win7 OS, Atom and 2gig ram ddr3 10.1" goes for R8k
CL900 Tablet PC - Rugged Small Form Factor Tablet

Any tablet running windows 7 is terrible. The android and ios operating systems were designed more for tablets and similar devices, windows 7 was not.
I know this because I have 2 brand new ones in the office that we are using for r&d and they suck.

There was one at Incredible in Hemmingways when I was there last, not sure if its still there.

Cough iPad 2 cough :)
I'm loving mine but doing presentations could be tricky.

Thanks for all the advise here guys... but like Adam I was tempted by that Apple. :)

Well let see, I'm getting the iPad tomorrow.
Will test it vigorously for the next few weeks.
