Hi all

So my Wireless Receiver decided to no longer go on anymore.
I have did some research(thanks YouTube) and it seems could be one of 2 things
1. The USB plug on the end of the cable is faulty and needs to cut off and replaced or
2. There's a F1 fuse that needs to soldered to jump on the under side of the circuit board.

Not being very engineer clued up, I'm somewhat hesitant to try these as I understand there is some risk involved in performing number 2 (as I'm led to believe). I'm also wary of messing it up completely as I have 0 experience with a soldering iron.

Has anyone else experienced this and maybe tried one of the above?
Is it worth my time or should I simply just buy another receiver/controller?

I did the soldering process twice in the past (on two different receivers) - works like a charm. The wireless receivers are still working to this day. The soldering required is pretty straight forward, even with minimal experience you should be fine :)

What did you use to solder it?
A piece of copper wire you bared?

I bought a knock-off receiver from Dx.com. Ran out of patience while it was on its way and bought another full receiver-controller combo.

Ended up reselling it, but it did work.

Was relatively cheap - R100 or so.

Considering getting another for my dad's machine. Got several controllers, and it's not like the 360 is getting any love anyway...

I also did the soldering on my reciever. The fuse is so small you can just solder over it with a piece of solder. did it about a year ago and still working

Hi again peeps.

Soldered that tiny sucker and so far it's 100%.
Thanks for all input.

Hi I have a spare knock-off receiver aswell but kept on disconnecting from the day i got it sooo bought a original as it drove me nuts but is there anyway to fix that problem that any of you know off or is it just the price I paid for buying cheap the first time round?

The knockoffs only work with the newer Black Xbox 360 Controllers, they will disconnect every few seconds with the older White controllers.
