Hey all

No clue of the format requirements but heres my issue anyway:

I get flickering on a replaced 15.6" lcd panel on a little Acer Aspire machine. Weird thing is, it only happens when the machine is under load, whether its the hdd drive. Also happens more often when on battery power than when in the wall. Ive checked the 30 pin cable, Ive done flex tests and have repasted to no avail

Its not driver related either, Ive used default win10 vga, old and new versions of Intel HDG

Where else should I be looking at? Could it be the mobo busy failing? I dont have the equipment (I think) to test the mobo. I did do "some" testing using an SSD which sort of resolved the issue but only when plugged into the wall

Thanks in advance folks!

I have one of those around. Will have to dig it out to test.

try the simple stuff first.

Reduce the refresh rate. Turn of panel self refresh.

Connect external monitor and see if the same issue occurs on that monitor

Tried all the normal fun things. Seems the issue persists on low battery, quite a bit actually. Any possibility the panel could be drawing more power than the one it replaced? Only recently started doing replacement repairs but I would have never thought wattage draw could vary on panel. Possibly my mistake (?)

The only time that I've had the same problem, in my case, was replacing a 1366 x 768 screen with a 1080P screen.

Thats the thing, it was a 1:1 replacement. Client is ok with it being above 20% on battery and still works ok. Just really annoying cos Im usually not this bad at identifying issues. Oh well. Thanks for the help, appreciate your input

Super likely, the machine looks like its been through hell. Think it was a 5th gen intel, so quite a bit old

Clients got the machine back, so no sweat off my back but curious af ya know?
