Hey Carbonite,

I recently acquired a WootBook Pro M17 from my workplace (WootBook Pro M17 Intel Core i7-13700H 5.00GHz Boost 14-Core 17.3" (2560x1440) 165Hz IPS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6GB GDDR6 Black Laptop - Wootware) with the RTX 4050.

My setup consists of 2 24" Rogueware Monitors which I used to connect to my old work laptop (Lenovo T490). This was achieved using the built in HDMI connector as well as a USB-C to HDMi dongle. This worked perfectly fine.

Once I got the WootBook I planned to do the same with the screen setup but found via doing some further research it appears the USB-C port on this model cannot provide the necessary video output. The only other port available besides the built in HDMI port is a mini DisplayPort. With that I went and bought a UGreen 10461 Mini DP Male to HDMI Female from Takelot. No matter what I tried it would not register a screen as being connected and so I grabbed a refund from Takealot.

After some more digging I came to the conclusion that perhaps the miniDP port is not Dual Link and I would need an Active adapter but couldnt 100% confirm this as its very difficult to get info on this machine due to it being a rebranded TongFang laptop as far as I can see.

I reached out to WootWare themselves who suggested - SUNIX D2H23MD Mini-DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 UltraHD 4K60 Black Active Adapter - Wootware

I have used Sunix adapters before for HDMI to VGA which have worked well.

Before proceeding to shell out the cash for the suggested adapter I thought I would reach out to the Carb community if they can confirm if this adapter works or any alternatives?

Thanks

I found a solution. Using a mini DP to DP and then using a DP cable to connect to a monitor worked for me.
