Hi,

I'm new at this and I think I suck at it, but here are my results anyway

System specs:
Intel i5 3570k
Antec KÜHLER H₂O 620
Gigabyte G1.Sniper M3
Corsair Dominator 2x 4GB 1600Mhz C9
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 (GV-R785OC-2GD)
OCZ Vertex 3 60GB

Think that's everything that kinda matters, lemme know if I missed anything important...

Software:
Win 7 x64 (Not a brand spanking new installation)
SuperPi / mod1.5XS (8M Runs)
3DMark Vantage v1.1.0 (Default - Performance)
Haven (Default - 1600 x 900)

Software.jpg

Ram was left @ 1600Mhz and Timings on auto
GPU was left at stock (975 Core/ 1200Mem)

Did two runs with Turbo:
-3.3Ghz (Sandy spec I hope??)
-4Core : 3.7Ghz
-3Core : 3.7Ghz
-2Core : 3.6Ghz
-1Core : 3.5Ghz

Yes master :D Just wish the damn 3D benchmarks didn't take soooooo long.

3DM05 looks crap but it's only three game tests. This is a CPU benchmark, so suitable for your needs right now.
Aquamark finishes very very quickly, it's definitely the fastest.
3DM11 looks awesome and isn't too long, but the awesomeness of it makes it seem to go by TOO quickly.
Vantage, on the other hand... Well I've seen grass growing faster. And it looks crap. And the physics suck. And it's lame.

@ Oj0: I'll be running some more benches later on, just want to push these as high as they will go. I have a very good idea of where that is, but lets not spoil it yet. 3D Mark 05 will definitely be one of them.

@ THE KING: You sir have gone mad with power! (I lol'ed)

Stopped my prime95 runs after 4.7Ghz since that's already way beyond what I had in mind for 24/7 clocks....

Think that's all I'm going to get to tonight. Feel free to comment...

3d Mark 05 in process. Any request for when that's done? Sadly I can't do mem clocking my ram sux (and my knowledge is limited), so I can't get them over 2000mhz and even that doesn't work too well, timings have to be very loose and voltages highish :/

You can get into the low 1m24.xxx range or lower with 5 GHz Spi8M :)

I'll have to figure out how to tweak for super pi first, but I'll get there, and then I'll start posting in OCL5k as well.

So how do you think the chip is doing, considering, nothing has been done to improve scores?

So here we go on those 05's

I'm definitely not done yet, still need to get my paws on better ram :D

Indeed, but the ram won't go below 8/9/8/28 @ 1600mhz and 11/11/11/28 (iirc) @ 1866mhz, got it running at 2000mhz once, but can't remember what I did :( And I really think that's poor for Ivy/z77, so now I want 2133Mhz C9, but that's way more expensive than 2133Mhz C11, and 2400mhz, lets not even go there...

hahaha,i can practically see the dollar sighs in your eyes...
this post reminds me of how much fun i had overclocking...man i need to get some cash so i can get back to it...

You think the $_$ is bad, you should see the holes in my pockets lol! I was waiting for z77 and Ivy, and honestly no regrets! Something very different from the Core2/1156 days, but incredibly rewarding. I was afraid it would be too easy, set max "safe" volts, check temps and then just see how far you can push the multi and your done, but that's definitely not how it works...

true,i have seen the kind of clocks that you can get on i5/i7 sandy/ivy and to be honest i thought it looked easy... until i saw you guys talking about it...its a whole nother ballgame next to normal cpu's,you know the ones with an fsb and multiplers that increase by 0.5 :p

It's not hard to do, it's just insanely time consuming. I got the cpu last week Thursday, and I must have spent 40hours clocking and benching the thing O_O

RAM has been secured! Soon there will be much more interesting Super Pi results, and me thinks, a re-worked sig pic...
