Any one here running 8 Nvidia GPU's on one rig? I have 8x EVGA 1060 Mining GPU's and for the life of me I cant get all 8 to work at once. Always just shows 7.

I have tested each GPU 1 at a time and they all work. Thought it was maybe the M.2 to PCI-E adapter but I bought a new PCI-E 1 to 4 splitter and still no joy.
I have replaced the riser and the USB Cable and tried extra power but nada

In the device manager it shows the Intel onbord graphics regardless of what I choose in the bios and I think that is the issue

I got 8 x 1070's on one rig and never had an issue, using a BTC pro board with 8 PCIe slots. Possibly m.2 riser?

The whole setup worked before on this exact board. Thought it was the m.2 riser so I go a PCI-E multiplier and still only detects 7 GPU's. Its a windows issue I am sure

You need to disable the iGPU in the BIOS. If you see it in Device Manager, then it’s still enabled. Sometimes it’s under Multi-Monitor.

I have looked but cant find and place to disable it. You can only choose primary

try this?

  1. Navigate to Advanced tab
  2. Navigate to System Agent (SA) Configuration
  3. Navigate to Graphics Configuration
  4. Locate iGPU Multi-Monitor and set it to Disabled

Went there and there is no disable for it. Ive updated the bios and tried and still no way to disable it

You need to dig around in there to change from IGFX instead of PEG/PCI. It might be set to Auto.

The bios does not have a disable setting for the on-board. All you can do is choose the primary which I have but the intel shit keeps showing up in device manager

What’s changed since you had 8 running till now ??

I had an issue once with a celeron cpu and had to upgrade it because of this issue.

It was something to do with “lanes” in the cpu and not being able to accommodate a number of gpus simultaneously. Upgraded the cpu and all were detected.

Windows x64. Device manager shows 8 just the wrong 8. It shows 7 1060's and 1 intel POS.

What 1 to 4 splitter did you get? Link asb?
I’ve tried 1 to 3 and either only slot works or they don’t support nvidia cards

Bought it from Titan Ice. It's a Biostar and it works fine with Nvidia cards. Oh and thx to Malhuis for recommending Linux based mining Os. All 8 cards mining away fine since I switched to Linux
