I’m currently having a problem with my ender 3 v2. Need to order a new extruded gear and nozzles but no where seems to have stock of both at the same shop. Some places have one but not the other [emoji2960][emoji2960]

Hey guys, anyone have success getting a decent print on an ender3 using Cctree TPU?

My prints are coming out hectically stringy and rough. I have played with temperature and speed and also lowered my retraction to try an help but it just does not seem to help very much. I know TPU on bowden setup isn't recommended but I have seen people get an acceptable print. Running an ender 3 with metal extruder upgrade and microswiss hotend. Using simplify as the slicer.

What speed did you try? I've heard low is good, like 20-30mm/s.

Also, try the Combing setting. Combing keeps the nozzle inside the body of the print which results in MUCH less stringing, if at all. Retracting a flexible filament is difficult so don't rely too much on the retraction.

I tried at various speeds lowest was 25mm/s and went as high as 40mm/s but I'm starting to think that my TPU has absorbed some moisture which isn't aiding in my attempt. Noted on the retraction. I lowered it to like 1.5mm and slowed down retraction speed. I'll look for the combing option and give that a try. Can't recall seeing that in simplify but definetly seen it in cura. Will try give this a go tonight when I get home.

The setting to avoid crossing outlines is under the advanced tab in Simplify.
"Movement Behavior" > "Avoid crossing outline for travel movements", check that and it should work.

That's a cool R683 991 in Sales

Ye exactly,

Was one hell of a deal, that i doubt we will see again especially on these new v2 units
Can't wait to see what their next deal is?

I was hoping the first one could last long enough for me to see the next one - Just to make sure they all are going to be that great...

I doubt it though

I'm getting poor buying filament from online stores.

Anybody know someone/somewhere in Cape Town that sells PLA for cheap cheap :D

Or even another city that delivers to Cape Town

R170 per KG low enough? Ask @g0l1athrulz how great Funkiments ABS is.

If you insist on using PLA, apparently AMS will be selling their old stock Hello3d/Mambawire at cost price this Friday.

Hey everyone, apologies if I'm not posting in the right place. I need someone that can do 3D scanning. Anyone here that can help or refer me to someone?

I'm still hunting a method to increase my print volume on x or y to 450mm on my Ender 3, without paying the massive premium to get the Xtender kit in south africa. :(

So I've been thinking. I just want to add some extra length...

Apparently, since I have a 24v heatbed it can sufficiently warm a 220mmx440mm area. I can just get an extended Y axis rail with a new y belt, with supports on either side to support the overhangs. I can then have an aluminium plate cut at 230 x 440 and use that with a glass bed on top. Should work for what I want to do.

Guess I'm doing some reading tonight.

Bargain

I need to experiment with ABS,

I have only used Pla and worked amazing for me, but worried about the whole lifting of print, and extra adhesion concerns with printing in ABS, as i do not have enclosures on my units

But at that price its pretty much R100 less than a roll of PLA, so temptation is real

closed room, i print with no enclosure on mirror with hairspray using funkiments abs, only issuer i see, is replacing the ptfe tube often, as the abs prints at 250c

I don't quite get the hype around Creality printers...
Anyone want to explain?

Given I have built my own 3D printer, I might be missing the point completely...

they cheap, they work well, they print nice, huge aftermarket support base, should i continue?

I have an ender3 and a cr10s pro, a custom built printer, an geeetech i3 pro w, 3dprintingstore i3, tronxy x1, take a guess which 2 printers has given me the least ammount of trouble?

For someone just starting out in 3d printing, a creality machine is the way to go, least ammount of hassle to get into the hobby, and buying an ender3 for example, you up and printing with in an hour, even if you know nothing about 3d printing
