Nah, you go right ahead. Gonna wait a bit till I can figure out how one would best get it coloured.

But it does look fantastic.

now how does that work? did BLaaR already pay something to have that printed, or did you have to print it to be able to give him the final price?

I gave him the link to the model with the scale I want it (height of the model), he then quoted me, I paid , he printed.

Off-The-Chart, the way I work is that I can quote you on the final price for anything as long as I have the model. If I have to design, then I work on an hourly basis.
Then once you send me Proof of Payment, I start printing. Once it clears, I ship :) Easy as that! :D

k, will wait on quote then

Got my first print today.......and boy. I am amazed. The print is very good. My cell camera is unable to capture the details nicely.

Bottom of the foot:

Even the scale I wanted is spot on :

All in all I am very happy and can recommend Shampoo1014's work any time. The parts were nicely packed and sent via the courier and initially I was worried but I got all the parts in tact. I already sent my next want to have to Shampoo1014

Hoop jou "Paint" skills is better as jou "foto" skills :wink-new:

Ek weet my paint skills is so kak soos my foto skills...en my foon se kamera skills.

Dis my kak ek will n Robotech VF-1 Valkyrie laat print maar ek paint soos my gat...
...wonder wat sal dit my kos om die ding te laat airbrush.

Shampoo1014 Just how much can you print on a standard Spool/Cartrage (or whatever you call em)?

Sorry for the mess, but all the white pieces equate to 1KG. No fill, with 1 perimeter.
All in all, it's 1.5kg for all of the printed parts.

Okay folks,

The time has come for me to say farewell to my old printer; not because I want to but because the new one was a little pricey haha. So here goes! I will make another thread in the CLASSIFIEDS - OTHER section as well :)

Item: DIYElectronics Prusa i3
Age: 8 months
Warranty: None
Packaging: Nothing original but will figure something out should you request shipping.
Condition: Used but well looked after. Handful of parts replaced before sale (Will list below)
Location: Durban
Reason: Upgraded
Shipping: Yes however it will be on you at your own risk. This thing is big and fragile.
Collection: Yes - Will give you a crash course too :p
Price: R4500
Link: Difficult one; originally it was THIS but I upgraded it to THIS....

A little about the printer:
- Build Volume: 250mm x 270mm x 200mm
- Heated Bed: Yes (Very good one in fact - Hits 90C easily)
- Auto-bed leveling: Yes via Inductive Probe
- Runs off the Arduino MEGA + RAMPS 1.4 combo
- Prints: PLA, ABS, PVA, PETG, PC and composites (Wood, alufill, carbon fiber, etc...)
- LCD: Yes
- SD Card: Yes

Upgrades I did to the printer:
- Leadscrew Upgrade (Much more stable and better print quality) valued at R1200.
- PETG Printed Parts (Stronger parts, harder wearing) valued at R250.
- Hardened steel nozzle (Longer lifespan and can print composites) valued at R100.
- Replaced Mosfets and Diodes on RAMPS (Better quality = more reliable) valued at R150.
- Redesigned hotend and PLA cooling fan valued at R150.
- Silicone insulated heated bed (Better insulation for heating) valued at R200.

What you will get should you buy this printer:
- The printer (Duh)
- Power cable + USB Cable for Arduino.
- Small roll of PLA filament.
- Spare sheet of tape for PLA and ABS.
- Spare roll of blue painter's tape for PLA.
- Spare LMU88 Linear Bearing
- Spare 608ZZ Ball Bearing
- Scraper
- Spare nozzle (Not hardened steel)
- Any spares I find for it lying around the printing station)
- A crash course in 3D printing + damned good coffee (Should you collect)
- If not collecting then you can get the WhatsApp version of the crash course. (Please note that I can only help you for so long.)
- Original SDHC card with all the original files and software that came with the printer. Will also gladly fill it up with my own random files.

This really is a great printer and I am sad to see it go but the new one cost some good money and I need to try and offset it a little. Will be sad to see it go, but hopefully it will go into good hands :)

Please note that Carb is one of my largest customer bases so should you purchase this printer from me, you must understand that I will be very against you starting something on Carb. Look local first ;)

Mmm I have a Idea.

Maybe I could do a sand casting thing? Get 3D printed objects made then use them in sand casting?
I have never done it before but maybe it will work? Plop what ever metal I use into the cast and burn/melt the 3D print away leaving a metal object behind?

I remember seeing it being done somewhere but with wax.. Maybe it will work?

Hey man,

Yes actually. And it works rather well. I have been wanting to do something like that for a while now because you could create some seriously cool models.

Thanks for the links. Definitely helped reading through it.

I just need to think up of ideas on what objects I want to cast. The bigger and more intricate it is the more likely it will fail. Mmmmm
Also may be interested in co purchasing your 3D printer if it's still for sale?
Will talk to my friend about it.

Sorry man, it is actually sold. Just arrived at the buyer now. Maybe go check out the Basic 3D Printer thread for some inspiration ;)
