I have to replace a CPU (Intel i5 6600) and saw a few people recommended the Ryzen 5 3600. While looking around at prices, I noticed that there was a rather large price difference between this and the Ryzen 5 1600. That price difference comes to about 70% more expensive. So my question is two-fold: First, is the 3600 70% better than the 1600 and second, coming from an i5 6600, will I notice a decrease in performance with 1600? I accept that I will notice an increase with the 3600, but I was fairly happy with the performance before.
Any advice will be appreciated.
[UPDATE] Most pertinent question: will I see a performance hit from my 6600 if I go to a Ryzen 5 1600?
