Don't want to hijack the thread but I'm in a similar boat....still using my trusty 1080ti so want to jump to a 4070ti or 7900xtx but also don't know what to go for since I have no plans to ditch 1440p.
@Valheru have you made any decisions yet?
Gaming mostly...1440p.
As for budget, well the CPU/Mobo/RAM alone is going to set me back R15K.
I'm probably going to need a new AIO as well.
Thanks for the heads up.
Good price for a X570 board but man IMO that ASUS TUF is fugly.
Lol
I stumbled across one of your earlier threads...
So my trusty 6 year old rig is starting to show it's age so I'm considering the following upgrade:
Current rig:
7700K
Strix Z270 mobo
16GB RAM (3200Mhz)
1080ti
Potential upgrade:
R7 5800x3D
Strix B550 mobo
32GB RAM (3600Mhz)
Will keep my 1080ti for now - first want to see what RX7000 and...
Thanks for the responses all. Much appreciated.
I have a broad musical palette but mostly rock/metal with the occasional Techno/Electronic stuff and 70s/80s pop/rock.
Aside from music though I also plan to game with the cans so they must do both jobs fairly well.
As for a DAC/Amp, my plan...
As the titles suggests, I'm shopping around for a new set of cans having not owned any for a couple of years now. My last pair were the Sennheiser HD569's which were relatively good until the synthetic coating on the headband and earcups started flaking off like black dust shortly after the...

So sell me one damnit lol
Yeah that I've realized...I actually went and bought one off eBay a few weeks ago (Creative 12MB) for an okayish price that included the pass-through and SLI cables which is nice as the majority of cards on eBay are missing these.
I'm shopping around for another one...

Busy with a retro PC project...
I have another beige PC case that belonged to my parents that I may do a sleeper build in later.
Anyway I'm sorted for now.
Thanks all.
Closing.
Could someone perhaps recommend or refer me to a reputable/reliable tech/electronics company in Jhb that do capacitor replacement on motherboards and GPU's as part of their services?
So far I'm considering Supima Technologies ( www.supima.co.za) as I've been in touch with them they've stated...

It's a long shot that I'll find something like this on Carb but no harm in trying I guess.
Ag shame, cry me a green river nVidia...so sick of your bullshit.
Why on earth would anyone want to buy a 2060 anyway?
RTX brings the big daddy 2080Ti to it's knees so why not just get a 1070Ti or 1080 instead?
On the first screenshot (WAN setup) you'll see I've selected "must use Ethernet WAN" so on the second screenshot you'll see "Transfer Mode" and "DSL mode" are greyed out. This kills the ADSL/RJ11 port as well because the sync light shuts off.
When I configured the fibre connection on my...
Long story short I've been struggling for almost 3 days now to get my Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 router (that I purchased from @ManBearPiggy a while back) to connect to through my recently activated Vumatel fibre.
Up till now I've been using the router without any issues on my ADSL line.

Fallout 3 was epic.
Fallout 4....meh. I've only clocked about 30 hours but already struggling to find any desire to continue.
Fallout 76 does not interest me because multiplayer games have never been high on my priority list (only MP game I play is Rocket League).
For me gaming is about...

Thanks for the video link @hyperioN_za.
That's sounds just like the buzzing I'm hearing through my headphones when connected to the Strix sound card.
The question is then, what could the possible source of the ground loop interference in my rig be? Since I get the same buzzing with different...
Thanks mate.
It's a really frustrating issue and the buzzing is constantly present when my rig is under load, even when I mute the audio in windows.
I've also noticed a very feint buzz when I'm just on the desktop and moving the mouse pointer across the screen or when scrolling up or down...
So I have reasons to believe that my ASUS Strix SOAR sound card is defective - getting a constant, very distracting and very annoying buzzing sound on the left channel (when headphones are connected) whilst in-game and a lot of the time the in-game audio sounds very muddy and indistinct.
In...

Good day Sir,
You don't perhaps have a new update for me on the Cherry MX Brown?
If stock doesn't land this week I'll probably just order damn thing from Amazon...I've been waiting almost 3 weeks for stock to arrive which is a bit absurd.
This is definitely a 1080...Zotac doesn't make 8GB 1080 Ti's (don't think anyone else does either?)
