Interesting read, my first Computer hard drive was bought from Prophecy, the event went and pick it up near Randburg or where it was just behind Crest, the oke even waited a bit after hours for me, remember the interaction crystal clear.

ahhh prophecy, was going to buy something else from them went I found out they were closing. They had good pricing.

I am not that active on the Carb forum anymore, although it feels as if things have slowed down a bit slightly.
I remember people purchasing the latest and greatest of one brand and then a week or two later selling it all and moving to the other (like from Intel to AMD or Nvidia to AMD etc.) With their SLI setups and all that jazz.
You'd post something and it would be sold within 30 minutes.

I was part of the SPAM MAPS brigade for years xD

That was back when our rand had some value. Nowadays most (not all) buy mid range and sell it off a few years later.
