So after a few days of the new site the major crux seems to be colours.

Choose an option on the poll for day/night theme switching.

We will be adding more color options in the near future though for VIP members.

Current color options:

Can we have like screenshots of how each looks, this should give us a greater understanding of orange :)

Edit* Nvmd... My mind be retarding. There was already that option in the poll.

If you want as much colour as now then they're all pretty dreadful apart from the blue, forum is already way too busy, adding bright colours makes it even more messy. There's a reason FB, twitter, instagram etc etc etc all use muted blues. If you just use highlights and ditch the background(for the love of god please, it's incredibly distracting) then the brighter colours can be incorporated.

Also why the insistence on the cycle? Presumably you're trying to build a brand, swapping colours constantly ruins that.

I see your point, although I feel most people will go for the VIP option if they are familiar with carb or are long time users. The newer people joining will see carb as it is now and wouldn't know what carb was before. So they may want to get VIP to change the theme or they won't bother.

Agreed with Scott about the cycling of colours. I'd prefer one colour all the time. Also echo other peoples thoughts about the forum looking 'too busy' and 'too dark' overall. The background - as nice as it is - is distracting. In any case, blue is my colour of choice.

Purple 100% can we not get like old school lightning GIF theme xD 8bit style... PS: I'm joking stick to purple.

I think I know the crux of this all now.
"It's too loud, it's not simple like it was"

It doesn't look like a work/document page anymore. :ROFLMAO: so people get caught out at work looking at a "non work site"

Making the forum less easy to read and enjoy in order to "force" people to go VIP is completely backwards thinking.

I'm also sure this reasoning didn't even enter the admin's minds when designing this change.

Yes, "It's too loud, it's not simple like it was", which makes it difficult to use and read. Considering a forum is based entirely around the posts it holds, making it difficult to find, read, enjoy and respond to those posts is a problem.

Asks for feedback
Gets feedback
Doesn't like feedback

Why even ask.

That is entirely your opinion and I will take it into consideration, but don't preach it like its the way it MUST be because you said it must be so. It only makes me not want to listen to your view .

Who's preaching?

Overall the new site is a massive improvement, the colours are just too much, which is exactly what you were asking about....

Are the colors of the site not what people are complaining about?
Dude, I really think you need to dial your troll down to 0. And take another approach. You really are testing my patience.

Your reply was stated as a fact not opinion. That's why I said preach.

I'm only asking about the main colours, not the rest of the site (just yet)

Also for the record I have removed the colourful tags on posts except for reseller/support/rules tag for now.

I'm not trolling, I'm pointing out that there are complaints against the current theme.
I'm done anyway, it doesn't seem like you want any feedback from non VIP members.

Your approach is one of trolling and being a know it all. #justsaying
and VERY matter of factly. IF you want someone to listen to you. Talk to them not AT them .
