Hey carbies

Thought I'd share some screenshots with ya'll from the game I'm working on. These are just some early scenery shots.
Do not ask for any info on the game because I am not making any details public before the first trailer is released (which is only planned for Q3 2018)

And these are daytime shots. The game will not really be taking place during daytime

Trust me you don’t need SLI 1080’s for photo-realistic graphics. Something like a GTX 1060 will handle this at 60FPS easily on 1080P if everything is textured with 4k photo-realistic textures.

Sorry to be a downer Odin but though the shots look great for a presumably "smalltime" operation it's kinda hard to get excited for what smells like yet another survival horror game.

Then again there's a certain other award-winning game out there that this could also follow in the vein of and that I would be quite alright with.

I can't wait to see the gameplay on this, the hype is bigger than Zen and Volta lol. I'll buy this for sure. Is there a Kickstarter campaign, so we get the full game for free for contributing now?

You clearly have the skill to build these games, could you possibly do like an HD remake of a game like NFS Underground 2 with 4K textures? It doesn't have to be the same game even, but very similar, so you don't run into licensing issues with EA.

There is no Kickstarter campaign. As far as I'm aware Kickstarter campaigns can't be created if you reside in South Africa.

I am confident that I can create a high resolution world in that graphical style, but there are two big problems here.

1. The time it would take to model cars and modifications for each vehicle
2. Vehicle licensing costs are insanely expensive. Last I remember the licensing costs to use three Lambo's in a racing game was 400 000.00 Euros. Almost all manufacturers are that expensive.

Even besides that, there is a lot of red tape with racing games. The manufacturers have to approve your vehicle models, the visual modifications, the performance specifications and upgrades per vehicle as well as the handling model for each vehicle. It's not worth it from a development perspective unless someone invests a few hundred million rand and you have a guarantee that your investment would be doubled with sales. Just to give you an idea, development and marketing for The Witcher 3 which has no licensing costs for items like vehicles cost CD Projekt Red a total of 81 Million USD. That's over 1 Billion rand.
