Hi Gents..

So this is a bit of a simple post but I would like to get some Expert advice on the RAM upgrade before I purchase it.

I Have the a Z370XP SLI (rev. 1.0) MOBO paired with this i7 - 8700 (Non K) CPU

I want to upgrade to the following RAM.

G.Skill F4-3200C16D-32GVK Ripjaws V

I am not phased by RGBs etc., but would like to get the "Best" possible ram for my MOBO...
As far as I have seen these seem to be recommended the most.. I'm open to any other suggestions as well - would like to get dual 16Gig sticks so that I can get more in the future (64Gig) - Currently running quad 8Gig "Server" ram sticks..
Am I deurmekaar, or would these work..
A far as I see/understand the CPU is only rated for 2666Mhz, so 3200Mhz would be overkill without some tweaking?
but 3200Mhz is the only option available?

I mostly game on triple 27" 60Hz monitors so I'm not looking to run 2billion fps, but want to have something decent, as my current ram seems to be fading on me...
Also kind off aware that RAM does not affect FPS as much...

Your advice would be much appreciated.

You won't get the rated xmp 3200mhz profile as your cpu is only limited to 2666mhz, most likely what will happen is your board will default to 2133mhz. Your board may or may not include default profiles for higher jedec ram speeds, but most likely you will need to manually set the ram to 2666mhz including the associated timings and voltages. The ram will still work perfectly fine with manually setting everything, just not at the rated speed but rather at a much slower speed out the box. If you can't/won't manually set the speeds and want completely zero hassles, find some 2666mhz ram instead.

Try overclock your current RAM and rather get a better monitor.

Spending money on faster RAM will make a difference but not subjecting your eyes to 60hz is a better use of your money.

Thanks, thought there will be an "Issue" regarding the speeds, wasn't aware that it will go to 2133Mhz, thought it would just be 2666Mhz.
do you have any idea of good 2666Mhz RAM that I could look at?
would anything suffice?

thanks for the detailed reply..

I don't mind tinkering but prefer to keep it stock as far as I can.

Problem is my current RAM is on its way out. (They are like 8years old or so... So think its time)
Had two Blue Screen Crashes the past month so don't want to wait till it really dies..

Ram is a Cheaper item to maintain for now, Screens are in the future, I do require Triple 27" monitors, so that is about 10k to replace...
If I get the cheapest that I have seen...

So for now, I can live with the 60Hz, I Play mainly Racing games and Survival (PVE) Games.
So no need for the competitive edge of FPS Shooters. hehe

Are you sure it’s your memory?

Run Testmem 5 using the ANTA 777 extreme config for 2 passes and see if that results in any errors first before you start replacing your RAM.

You might find out that it’s your GPU or motherboard or just a bad driver.

Post your full pc spec here

well the message on blue screen said memory management, so I asked google, and goggle told me most likely RAM issues..

So I'm not sure, but I mean, google knows everything. hahaha.. NEH????? hahaha..

Ill Run the test tonight, then see what it says...

I don't know all the exact specs but here are the basics:

MOBO: Gigabyte z370sli rev1.0
CPU: Intel i7 - 8700
Ram: Not sure TBH - not sure of the details - but 4x8gig
GPU: Gainward Ghost 3060ti
PSU: Nor sure of the Brand - 650W
Storage:
1x 120Gig SSD - Operating System
1x 500Gig SSD - Game - Assetto Corsa
1x 1Tb SSD - Other games & GPU Drivers and programs.
Cooling: "Stock" CPU Cooler - Case 3x "in" push fans 1 x extract fan

Most likely is not the same as confirmed.

Here's the download for Testmem 5.

You'll see it starts testing upon opening the app, you need to load the ANTA 777 extreme test config and then reopen the app.

Let it run until either you get an error or it's gone through several passes without any reported errors. Either way, you need to test each component before spending money.

Thanks for the Link..

Ill run it this afternoon and see what it says...
It would be great if my RAM is ok...
Then I can save towards those screens. haha

Thank you Jolly!!

You’re welcome.

I just want you to make sure before you start replacing components and end up wasting your money.

If it is the RAM then that’s fair enough but let’s make sure first.
