Mine has this same issue - started a few months out of warranty
Ordered replacement sensors from AliExpress for R250.
Will post here if it arrives/works.

Bump, the lady inside the vacuum just says please place me in a different spot. Seems like a common issue on these.

So at the moment it's a constant issue. Will need to be be fixed for it to function for everyone asking.

My error was: "Please place the vacuum mop on the floor to start" indicating that one of the cliff sensors was faulty. Ended up being one of the front 2 sensors. Also note that opening the robot is quite the task and will void warranty (if any remains on the 1 year with Xiaomi).
