Why do people dislike Evetech?

And many more if you just search 'Evetech'.
Basically the tldr version is they fuck over customers on warranties, and their after sales service sucks harder than that of Telkom or your local municipality

To be worse than telkom is skill not many can achieve.

Hello fellow carboniters, Not sure if I posted this in the appropriate thread, I have a question , why do people seem to avoid Evetech? Or why do people dislike Evetech ?
Saw your question, immediately guessed you’re a teenager. Viewed your profile, passed Go and collected R 200.

The joke is, Telkom in the Western Cape has been on the ball with any and all issues when I've dealt with them. Look I am not say that they are perfect, but their service in the Western Cape is actually pretty good.

I had to move back to Johannesburg area to find a job as it is pretty difficult in the Western Cape. I was shocked when I saw the roads here in Vanderbijlpark, and it is the municipality where the public pays their rates and taxes better than any other municipality.

Not sure if that's an insult , I'm pretty new to this forum yes . If my grammar is partially futile , it's because I'm on 3 hours of sleep man.

Are there any good tech websites that anybody would recommend , so far my experience with Wootware has been adequate .

Wootware is great, there are also a few resellers on here that have acquitted themselves really well.

I think @Techfox could be your closest go-to if you are unable to source parts from Wootware.

Another question , How does one accumulate a rating , and are there any tutorials on how to properly use carbonite .

Here are a few basic videos:

Basically, we trade.deal with each other and upon deal completion give a rating (mandatory) so we can build up trust profiles to try and avoid Scamtree-like bahviour.

They are decently cheap, but there have been reports of shady dealings, grey goods, and their after-sales service varies from none to straightup scummy reportedly

I haven't had to deal with it yet but others have posted plenty of links

@broodly I see you are from Durbanville too. I have not personally ordered from Evetech, but I can confirm that Dreamware, Techfox and Wootware are legit in every aspect.

People tend to dislike scummy companies who continuously treat their customers like trash.

For relevant evidence, the forum has a search function - just search Evetech/Thievetech by thread title.

They're poopy heads.

In all seriousness, I can live with the warranty stuff. The real injustice is that they charge me R250 for shipping to my address. Never ordered anything there, just can't get over it. Like R250 man. R250. Yes, even on the stuff with 'free shipping'.

Buy your stuff here for better value and trusted suppliers bro.Wootware is out of stock for 50% of there shit anyways.

Unrelated question while people are here but why is the Ryzen 3 3300x so pricy here compared to overseas and hard to find?

Rebelgaming would actually be closer as they are based in Durbanville as well :)
Not that this would matter due to covid, so shipping only probably.
