Who is good at modding sidepannels? I need someone in Jozi to mod a prodigy and am not that handy myself..

I want a dual window mod like this one:

I'm good at modding sidepanels.

If by sidepanels you mean your mothers.

:p

Edit :

I know chowzen and orihalcon have both done mods on their machines but I doubt they'd do it for free or as a service.

Who said free.. willing to pay for good workmanship. ;)

am I missing something??

"dual window mod"??

Ori is unfortunately in CPT if not mistaken, so best would be chewy.

let me do a hack job at mine and see how it comes out :)

Allright..

OTC is going to check if the windowed factory pannel fits on other side to.

Then relocate the power and reset button to the back or so:

VWP - lever switches

OTC mentioned it are momentary switches and above are toggle switches.

momentary switch - Google Search

However, relocating the buttons seems to be the easiest task while getting two OEM side windows, that is if they fit.

Relocating buttons is of. The left pannel doesnt fit on the right side.

Unless you mod the existing pannel like first post,
or bitfenix makes a pannel that is symetric to left window mod with relocation of buttons to the front.

I am going to have a look at how my work looks tomorrow and depending on how busy, I will cut my right panel afterwards.

Did my own case like 10+ years ago. Came out quite nice, you can use silicone or double sided tape.
Doubt I'd touch my prodigy panel though...

I like the "industrial" look so I will be using some socket cap screws.

and then ofc after cutting I realized I gave the files back so I will have to get those 1st :(

as you can see in last pic, the left panel works but ofc the perforated holes will be an issue.

and in pic 6 you notice a little problem.

Yeah thats actualy not a stupid idea even if you buy the standard window pannel, to actualy use the perforated one on the other side for better airflow since you blank it out with a window on the other side.

How thick is that Alu ? 1 or 2mm ? What did you use to cut it ? looks dangerous :p

I did one half with my dremel but then my disc was done for and had no other, so used jigsaw for last half.

sadly my jigsaw is in bad shape and I don't have a nice table on which I could clamp the thing to cut nice and close to the markings :(

so have a lot of cleaning up to do.

it's just shy of 2mm

Eish - weren't you afraid of bending the metal or even worse - kinking it ?

Dremels are pretty good - until they melt in your hands - hahhahah

Lots of filing and sanding - good luck :)

hehehehe, yeah the dremel got pretty boiled after the cutting.

would have liked to go on with it as it did get me closer to the lining though.

nah, with the jigsaw I just didn't force it, but you can achieve pretty neat cuts with the right tools and a nice jigsaw.

I used to use a jig to drill, think it was like 180mm, holes into flooring to insert grommets for cabling under the floor.

as Squigly mentioned, as scroll saw would have been ideal, but oh well.

hehe NavZ,

already posted one in the Prodigy thread.

will have a look tomorrow if drill is back then will be trying to mount my 2 Vandal switched for power and reset,

and doing the drilling of the 4 holes for mounting the panel to the case.

my original right side panel I will most likely be cutting up more if the mounting of the new one is successful.

will be enlarging the windowed area or maybe cut a separate area.
