Hey guys, I want a new backup LTE router...
I currently have two D-Link DWR-921 (one C1 and one C3) and they are both criminally bad.
The C1 doesn't even let me get into the web interface, as the new browsers don't want to talk to it - say unsupported old protocol or something.
The C3 sort-of works for like 20min, then jams and I have to reboot. Upgraded to the latest firmware, no joy.
I don't want another D-Link, those two put me off that company for good.
I can have a TP-Link MR200/MR400/MR600 for roughly EUR 100 (which is the ballpark I'm happy to spend).
Then there are some other TP-Link TL-MR6400 for only EUR 65. I would be happy to save 35 bucks, but I'm afraid to get stuck with another piece of garbage.
Then there are some Cudy routers that I never heard of, and they are half the price of TP-Link (most of them in EUR 50-ish). Again, scared of buying garbage...
I've been beaten into low expectation by my two dogs, so the needs are as follows -
- that it can keep running for an extended period of time without dropping or needing a reboot
- the antennas need to be detachable and with SMA connectors (I need to plug an external antenna, due to the bad signal in this dump)
- the cellular speed doesn't need to be high - if it can do 10/10 Mbps, I'd be over the moon
- the WiFi is irrelevant, as it'd get plugged into my existing mesh
What say you?
Ty!
