Hi guys.
I'm looking for nice looking keycaps for my keyboard and I can't seem to find anyone selling locally. The only people selling that I can find are BidorBuy importers or dodgy looking websites.

Thanks for any help.

Used to be Rebeltech but now your best bet is to import from say amazon.com etc you're looking at shipped keys from R400 to prices like R2000 etc you're keen there.

I've never ordered from Amazon before, what is your experience with importing from them?

Generally quite limited in terms of options here, but if you're looking for MX keycaps, the Corsair ones are available locally and go for R860 a set. Both white and black are available

Sadly no pudding style keycaps 😓

@Someone what keyboard do you have?

There are some Corsair and Razer keyboards that don't fit these cheaper keysets. So you'd need to make sure that your keyboard is supported. KBDFans might be a good option and novelkeys if you can find something in stock.

I have some Chinese make keyboard but it has a standard layout.

That could be a little more tricky. It's more the design of the keycaps themself (MX Cherry, Gateron etc)

Most bigger names stick to these branded key types because they're universal, whereas the inhouse brands are cheaper to make, but sadly aren't compatible with these

What do you want exactly?

I am going to buy a touch screen for my phone from either Banggood or aliexpress pending my choices I make and total shipping costs.

Check there what you like and send me a links. We can sort out the shipping to you once it arrives by me.

I actually didn't check out yet because I'm still pondering whether I should take the Kailh Box Heavy Burnt Orange switch packs or not.

Struggling on this one as well, now that Rebel Tech are gone (F).

I've also used up my three imports for the year. :p

If you can get someone to bring it into the country for you (not sure what's popular on here, perhaps Aramex Global Shopper?) then you can order decently premium keycaps at mechanicalkeyboards.com or drop.com.

Or, as mentioned, you can order directly from Amazon - they've got some gems in there, if you look hard enough.

Will be watching this thread to see what others recommend. :)

So wait you only get three imports a year? Do Amazon imports count?

Yeah, they count. The "three imports per year" thing is annoying - need an importers license for more.

Amazon is cool because they actually do ship to SA, and they include the taxes and duties in your checkout total. :)

I just got a bunch of stuff from mechanicalkeyboards.com Shipping was a pain for the heavy keyboards, but keycaps should be ok.

I would not buy anything but PBT, Tai Hao makes nice quality otherwise check out pimpmykeyboard.

Tis an expensive hobby ;-)
