Hi,

I have a little SARS money that's burning a hole in my pocket and among other things I've decided to replace my old Logitech MK710 combo. The keyboard's been a champ and I've only had to replace the batteries in it maybe 2 times over a period of 4 or 5 years but it's time to let go.

So I'm looking for suggestions. I like a big enter button and I like media controls on the keyboard (volume, calculator macro etc.) but not pro gaming 50 programmable macro keys if that makes sense. I do play games on occasion and one of the biggest drawbacks for me of the old keyboard was that I tend to press on the keys from an angle and the shafted setup of the keys caused them to sometimes catch or sort of lock half way down.

So, looking for something fancy, maybe backlit, maybe rgb even. I'm not sure about the switches but I intend to go to one of the stores that have the demo switch type boxes so that I can check what feels right. I've had my eye on the Corsair k95's (the platinum one seems to only come with the speed switches) but I've heard mixed things about the durability of corsair peripherals and I'd rather not dosh 3 grand on something that's only going to last a year or two.

What do you guys recommend?

Logitech G810.. I own one and the wife keeps using it so just bought another one. It's a really nice keyboard. Doesn't look like a gaming keyboard but has all the bells and whistles. Only thing missing is a USB pass through. But that doesn't bother me to much. Import from Amazon though. Only the g610 is available locally I think. Still cheaper to get it from Amazon.

My first mech keyboard is the G.Skill Ripjaws KM780 RGB.
I really like it. It does have a bit of a hard gamer look to it but it's got all the media keys and a volume scroll.
It's built surprisingly well. It's heavy and definitely uses quality materials.

Just go straight to the king and get a Corsair k70 rapidfire

Keyboards and Mice are very personal peripherals, just like headsets etc etc.

I love my Logitech gear ... G910 Orion Spark and G520 Proteus Spectrum.

Keyboard of choice: on-screen keyboard.

Coolermaster Masterkeys in your size variant of choice.

Cherry MX Blue or Brown keys.

My first PC had one of those :) (Yes, I am old)

Recently moved over to a CM Quickfire XT for home and the XTI for work. They are both fantastic as they mirror the IMB keyboards of old. Just a note on the XTI, it is quite loud compared to the XT.

Fleksy keyboard lol
