I'm really confused and sad at the same time. My beloved fiesta st, with fords news about it having a similar cooling issue as the kuga its market value will tank. Yes I have not had any problems with mine, short distance and long distance holidays it never overheats, but its still part of the problem batch. I only bought it last september, at the time it had +-28 000km, today its sitting on 46 000km and I have truly enjoyed every single km thus far, I have not enjoyed any car as much as this and that includes my old rx8 high power. Yet still I feel like I need to get something else, so ok lets look at a trade in. My budget would be about 300k but I'd like to stay under that.
I want something that can match its performance and also its fuel consumption, 6.2l per 100km while giving it the beans is helluva impressive. The only car I can find similar would be a polo gti, but I dont like polos. I'm sure it will be better in many ways but it just doesnt seem to have the charm of the little fiesta, plus I feel its high risk.
Maybe I can upgrade to a focus st then? 0-100 in 6.5 with consumption over 7l per 100km, while my fiesta 0-100 time is 6.9, honestly thats mostly just an upgrade on size and ride quality, not worth the extra money.
A3 1.8t? My boss drives the sedan, I had a go in it, consumption is better than mine and even though the kw is similar the audi just feels sluggish, and the interior is nothing great, the seats look bland compared to my recaros, entertainment system is nice though.
Clio rs, the dark horse of the bunch. Ticks all the boxes for what I'm looking for in a car, but its french. My assumption is that services and repairs wont come cheap here. The interior also looks tacky and plasticy. Nice seats though, better ride quality than the fez, nice performance, plus I dont mind the switch to automatic.
Then I can spend more than 300k and get a golf gti or a merc a250, I'd lean more towards the merc here, but even though I can afford it I simply do not feel right spending that amount of money on a car. Like I'm the type of person thats always thinking of that rainy day when theres a huge emergency and you need cash.
I honestly cant think of any other cars that would suit me, if I stick to my budget the car also needs to have under 50 000km and have a service plan, under 300k I dont seem to have many options. I bought my fiesta cash, plus purchased an extended service plan, thought I was doing something good and staying debt free, but now I think the longer I keep the car the bigger the loss will be if ford makes another big announcement
