What is your GPU Hotspot Temperature delta to your GPU Core Temperature?? Mine is not 17,18c degrees difference, normal?? I read it can go up to 30c

Morning Carbonites. Hope you all well and had a great Easter break. I need your help, advice and assistance please. What is your GPU Hotspot Temperature delta to your GPU Core Temperature?? After repasting 4 months ago it was 11c degrees difference but yesterday I saw its now 17,18c degrees difference, is that normal?? I read it can go up to 30c. My highest GPU Hotspot I recorded was 84c degrees however my GPU core was 67c degrees max. I repasted 4 months ago, surely my paste is not dried up already.

Thanks all

What your differences in degrees celcius? I'm using a Asus Rog strix 2080 oc o8g GPU.

Well what paste did you use? Paste does get "pumped" out as the GPU heat cycles... more liquid/"high end" pastes tend to pump quicker thus the reason Prebuilds and Laptops use the stuff it does.

It doesn't really matter as long as your temps stay below the limits, 87 isn't that hot.

I used CoolerMaster MasterGel Maker 11 w/mk. My Max GPU Hotspot is 84 c degrees celcius

87 or 84 doesn't matter it's not over heating you'll be fine. Never used Mastergel before but not bad paste AFAIK. The 6/7 degree change could be pumping or could be a whole host of other changes the result in the difference wouldn't bother unless you're running into overheating problems.

P.s: The w/mk could just as well not exist. All the manufactures test differently as thus the measurement isn't anything approaching a standard measurement.

Ok thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it. So you recommend me to not repaste again?

On my 3070 under full load, my GPU hits 67 and hotspot is 78.6. Similar margin, totally within spec.

If you're worried about it you could have a look at your cooling - perhaps adjust the fan curve for the front case fans or the GPU fan curve too. Your temps are fine though.

I've already done what you suggested. I repasted in Late December 2021 but the difference has expanded to 18c degrees from 11c degrees right after repaste. I used the big dot in the middle and few small dots around it.

Since Eksdom switched off our power my values have reset, but currently hotspot and GPU are ~10c apart.
GPU is at 32.3c and Hotspot at 43.1c

Just to point out and clarify, w/mk is an official SI unit and is a very real and valid unit of measurement, unlike tdp. Whether or not the manufactures are providing calculated numbers correctly is a different matter. You can have two manufacturers selling a "27 inch" monitor, one might measure the actual 27" panel length while the other is a 24" panel and includes thick black 3" bezels, but you wouldn't say inches as a measurement might as well not exist because of the different measurement reporting method.

Apparently thermal paste for cpus are not always suitable for gpus due to a faster "drying out" process from higher average working temperatures, you want a paste that can withstand drying up for as long as possible.

Yes in the normal heatsink and thermal applications stuff not related to DIY there is pretty good regulation of how it is calculated an an official SI unit.
Whereas in DIY it's an absolute shitshow none of the manufactures use the same testing process to determine the amount.
