Howdy folks
My wife and I are saving to emigrate to Scotland at the end of this year and I am looking to supplement my income a little by working on weekends.

Ideally looking for a casual weekend job where I can earn an extra grand or two every month. Preferably in the north of JHB (Fourways, Randburg, etc).

I have worked in desktop support roles, as well as field technician roles for many years. I started at a PC shop when I was 15 and made a career out of it until about 7 years ago where I transitioned into the home automation industry. I now work for the biggest AV & home automation distribution company in sub-Saharan Africa. Unfortunately, with the exchange rate doing all the kickflips and somersaults that it is, just this job is not enough to pay for our visa and NHS applications in October.

Unfortunately never got any A+ or N+ certifications, but I do know a lot about how PCs and networks go together, and I am a very methodical troubleshooter with a desire to finish things that I start.

If you or anyone you know is looking for a highly experienced PC/Network technician, please get in touch.
I am a 38 year old male of sober habits and a great work ethic.

Thanks

Good luck with finding, JHB is quite big I think adding an area etc would help.

Otherwise you might spend the extra bucks all on fuel.

Thanks man.
The location field at the top of the thread does say Randburg. I'll add it into the body though as well.

I don't want to piss on your parade too much, but a grand or two for weekends might be ambitious. There's a local retail store here that recently offered positions at R 4,200/month full time. Incredible Connection is offering a part-time position at R 36/hour. Matrix Warehouse seems to top out at R 5k/month full time. A lot of the smaller (independent) stores offer R 100-150 per day.

You can do better with a side-hustle.

I hear you. I was hoping to avoid going the side hustle route but it might be the best option. Thankfully I was contacted by someone offering some remote support. Will see what comes of that. Honestly every little extra bit helps at this point.

Thanks for the info though my guy. Appreciate you taking the time out to offer some insight.

Doing support you can make 10x what you'll ever earn as a retail clerk/techie, so that sounds like a much better option. And no prob :)
