Hi all

So I'm looking for old skateboard stuff that people no longer want or need.

Reason: Kids at my local skate park can't afford new wheels or new bearings etc. I spoke to a few of them and when they heard that I had purchased new wheels, they were desperate for the old ones.
Condition: Any, the kids don't even have wheels that are properly round and still try. A deck with a split front lip is still usable to them. They just want to ride.
Location: Cape Town, Milnerton
Pics when donated: Will do

Kind regards,
JJ

Sooo. I got a snapped element board under my bed with some element trucks, wheels, and bearings. The only thing I think is that it is rusted to shit. If you could pop me a PM tonight to remind me I will have a look for you - I am in Durban tho

I moved this thread because it's not what PIF is for, even though it is a good cause. I've moved it here since it's more applicable as well. Happy hunting, dude.

I can probably ask my son for some longboard spares but I don't believe they are useable for a standard skateboard.
Apart from the trucks, everything else is usable. I met a guy on Sunday who uses longboard wheels who has no legs and uses the wider wheels in the concrete bowl for more grip. He pushes around with his hands, no gloves. Pretty cool guy too.

Anything donated will be gratefully appreciated. Old bearings are better that shot bearings.

No stress! I'm just happy to be helping someone who has far less than I do.

Cool, I'll check what he has.

Pretty sure I should potentially have a used deck, wheels and maybe bearings I'm not using. Will dig in the garage and make plan to meet up with you.

Gonna chat to Boardhub and so on to see if they have anything to chip in with.

I’m sure they get a million people coming in just throwing away half used wheels.

It’s a waste when someone else could make so much more use out of them.

Sup guys
Sorry for the delay. I've had the flu for 10 days now and I'm only just getting to the point where I can be active, it crippled me for a solid 8 days.

I'll be in touch to get the hardware from you all. So far I've got one deck and truck donation and I found my wheels that have cheap ABEC 9s in them so we have one complete to donate.

Wheels are a problem since guys skate them into the ground and they actually break. Trucks get worn down but can still keep going. Any oldish wheels would be fantastic.

Hi all
Just an update on this project.

I have spent some time cleaning bearings and looking at the decks donated - one of the decks has a fairly major split so I need to get some wood glue and a clamp to make it largely usable.

So far I have:
2 sets of wheels
2 sets of bearings
3 sets of trucks
3 decks

I donated my current deck to the project as it was too small for me. I got a larger 8.25" deck on special and am building up a new board.
I'm away on leave from the 7th so I'll put everything together when I get back on the 24th of September.

If anyone has anything to donate - please PM me and I'll get back to you.
Please consider donating a set of wheels as those are usually thrown out first and even if they are largely worn, are still usable.

Thanks all!
