Want to start a new business. Need a CTO. Are you the guy?

This thread is going in circles wow! so pointless

This + being petty with Silvrav over age of all things...
Good luck to you as this thread was not a good start to anything positive.

Sorry for the quick derail but the lol's at the thread made my Friday a bit more bearable.

Good luck with the ventures OP and everyone else if you don't agree why not just press the little back button and forgot the thread existed :)

If we did that then your friday would have been unbearable :)

I'm interested TheForener.

Simple, to the point, I'm willing to hear it out.

This thread is better than an episode of Silicon Valley [emoji23]

So my take :
Age is a number
Everyone has an idea that's gonna change the world

Question: have you started executing your idea? As in there are people and processes in place already and things have "started"

Can all the haters please fall in line, small announcement.

The very first Angel Investor I pitched just committed to the full Seed amount. We'll use the funds to hire a Software Developer to build the MVP.

In case you didn't know, only 0.91% of startups get Funding from Angel Investors. (Source: https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/230011)

Just saying...

In the bank it will take us 6 months - 1 year to do the back end for a big project. Then we consult for a week with a UX/UI design company (who we have been using for years). Then another 6 months to develop the front end. So in 1+ years of hard development , the UI/UX design takes a week to sort out.

If it takes a week to do UI and UX then I have some news for you, you ain't getting proper UX. Taking a idea, doing research, user research, personas/journeys, building a prototype and testing it with actual users doesn't happen in a week, nevermind doing the actual interface design (UI) for that tested idea. I understand the process speeds up when a lot of the research / personas are known (as will be the situation with a bank using the same consultancy for "UI/UX"), but there is no space for testing / iterating / testing again in a week. Except if everything is just MVP's.

So I call bullshit on your "takes a week to sort out". Somewhere you guys (the bank you work for) aren't getting what you are paying for. Just my two cents.

People keep throwing the UI/UX term around. To be honest I don't actually think a lot of you understand the difference.

@OP, good luck with the venture. Don't get it why people have to be so negative about people trying to do something.

My guess is they have ever so slightly more information to go on than the users here.
Also they weren't presented to someone with a missing 'I' and 'G' in their name.

You need a documenter or guide/manual writer?

TheForener , did you find the right guy eventually?

Suppose if anyone will start up new business they are hired as a CTO employee in software development company. But one thing, this is appreciating to start a new initiative as of the services. Have a good luck!

i just read this whole post, jees 23 years old back then and so full of himself, cannot even imagine now.... WOW

Ah, remember this thread, lost interest back in 2017 when he first labeled those critical of his ideas (which were net even at the level of vapor-ware) as "haters"...

His whole pitch so reminded me of a highly polished version of a Nigerian Prince scam.

Tell me this doesn't sound like this...

Lets forget about him. Ive got good news for you im only 18 and ive started lots of companies that have not been successful however the only issue was lack of funding!

Drop me a pm and im sure we can make millions together and remember age is but a number :p

I want to know what happened now. I have started many businesses, and have failed at most of them.. its hard bloody work.

I do think going to a developer with a firm idea and funded commitment is a good idea though. having said that, most of my startups haven't required much development initially.

One company I started up is now doing 20 million a year turnover, i have no interests in that company anymore.

One thing I hope though is that people who want to start businesses and take risks have a strong family at home. my wife is a rock star, she runs her own successful business herself and has been the absolute best for me.

Lol the paid in equity thing, when I claimed against a ex clients insolvent estate he tried telling the court that I was a investor in his failed business. I did over half a million rands legal work as an investment.
Could not provide a agreement.... I think I got 45c to the Rand after 4 years....

Oof, this thread is rough. On the bright side, I am a cofounder of a development house where we are in need of someone with good UI/UX skill, pm incoming.

Edit: didn’ see it was a necro’ed thread.

Sad, I missed this gem.

This guy could have made it..... but like many Financial Advisors (and such), their confidence and drive is contagious but the proof is ultimately in the pudding.

I'm curious, but I actually think I'd rather not know. As if it was/is a success, I'll regret not jumping on board when I had the chance to do so

Nee fok man het jy niks anders om te doen nie 😂
Kan nie help nie! Diep binne my hoop ek die ou het ons almal verkeerd bewys...

I just remembered this guy last night and curiosity got the better of me. If anybody has more details about him or his angel investor(s) it would be nice to know that he is now 25 years old and rolling in the dough. Without any feedback I can only assume that he is now selling used cars.

You win some, you lose some, no humility in that. C'est la vie.

Dude had the humility of Elon Musk. He who claims shck dwellers in SA are happier than Americans. (according to what he has seen while living in SA)
