Coin\Currency: USD
Amount: $50
Current Market Value: R14.45 to 1 USD
Price: R700
exchange link: XE: Convert USD/ZAR. United States Dollar to South Africa Rand

Looking to make an exchange, $50 for R700. Converted directly it should be R722, but a rounded off number will do. I have no use for $ and would rather have some Rands. Am willing to trade more, or less, figured $50 will do for now as this is the first time I'm doing this here.

I don't think this is technically legal.
If you possess a foreign currency (even in an online account), you're supposed to get it converted to ZAR through an authorised forex dealer in SA, not by selling it yourself.

FNB acts as an authorised dealer for PayPal accounts in SA, so you can convert it back to rands through FNB (even if you don't have an FNB account) at the current market rate (rather than the discounted rate you're offering here).

Oh I see. I have been having problems getting it to work through FNB. So I thought oh well why not just give it to someone as an exchange. Thanks for the info, I'd rather not do anything illegal then!

It's difficult getting things set up on FNB, is there a guide to easily do it? I created an account, but no idea how to link Paypal to it. Even FNB documentation on how to do it doesn't even load. I'm on the Paypal services page on FNB, but there's nothing to do.

But again, thanks for the info, guess I'll rather just leave it be, maybe one day use it on a trip over there or something.

Don’t listen to that guy. It’s not a big deal to sell your foreign currency privately, especially just $50.
