Hey all... I'm in urgent need of a headset, Id like to order it next week, so I can get it before Cyberpunk releases haha xD
So without this turning into a discussion about headphones vs headset ... I'm not opposed to either.... just the mic is a little more convenient.

My budget is R1500 and my research has led me to either of the following:
Cooler Master MH650 or Cooler Master MH630

So the MH650 has a fixed cable with a USB connection and virtual 7.1 surround sound (and has RGB which I dont care for tbh).... While the MH630 just has a detachable 3.5mm cable (Which honestly I really prefer in case I need to replace it).... both have detachable mics

Im finding it hard to justify the extra R300 for the MH650 ....My questioning regarding the above differences is:

My MoBo already has Sound Blaster X-Fi MB3 software ... I know it wont work with the 7.1 software on the MH650 (and how good that software actually is, is debatable) .... But Im guessing/hoping that the X-Fi MB3 software is sufficient to use with the MH630?

Ive looked at Corsairs offerings (Void/HS50/60), while I LOVE Corsair, Id like to try something different... ALIENWARE AW510H might also be a contender but Im not sure.... Steelseries and Razer dont interest me in the slightest.... What is the consensus on lower teir brands like Red dragon/Gamdias/Xiberia? Any other recommendations are most welcome.

Thanks!

Turtle Beach Elite Atlas Pro is the budget killer. If you can find one in stock somewhere. Otherwise the HyperX offerings are all solid.

The MH630 has been recommended by many audiophile-lite reviewers/YouTubers.

I would also go for it over the MH650.

Slightly out of my budget. Thanks though

Thanks for the confirmation , I think this is what I was really hoping for when posting this thread xD

Think @PancakesZA can confirm they are legit. Have never tried them myself. But have the MH670 and they are ntha (y)

Correct, they're fantastic.
Also currently on the MH670's thanks to @SILTECH786 and @PC Rescue

I'll gladly recommend any of the current generation CM headsets, especially when you take price into consideration.
They offer INSANE audio quality for the pricing.

+1 on this one if you're intending on doing voice-recording of any kind. The mic is better than it has any right to be, at this price point. :)

Personally, I rate the MH630 over this one if the use-case is primarily music and gaming. This is very subjective.

Just a quick update... I purchased the MH630 and I'm very happy with my decision.

There are some great YT reviews that go into more detail than I care to go into right now lol
I'll just say: Value for money is truly exceptional with these.

The only thing i would change is the 180 degree swivel cups... generally I don't like them, but Im to willing to overlook that, for the whole package.

I think the biggest surprise was the cable...BEST headset cable Ive ever used lol Thick, silky, braided, not overly long cable that has a hard time coiling itself... its my pet peeve with headset cables! and if it ever does, the detachable cable makes it super simple to fix.

Would definitely recommend these
