Upcoming Antec 900 exhumation and refitting

Hi All
To cut a long story,my idea of having my gaming rig and an htpc isnt working
GF just refuses to use the htpc for general browsing plus i keep breaking the wireless,so i sit with an occupied pc just after getting crysis 3 running smoothly.
So...i happened upon a phenom 9750 and some ram,which would be a nice boost from the htpc's 2.2 9550..a plan began forming.

I have an Antec 900 that the enforcer replaced,and to be honest,is still perfectly workable with a coat of paint and some love.
also,the mounting of the h100i in the enforcer has annoyed me for the final time.
my annoyances with the 900 are drive bay related,which are no longer an issue,as i no longer need it to house my media drives

The enforcer will be painted the GF's requested gloss white,with white led(will see if i can sneak in another colour accent)
which is pain and a half because the screen is black as are the peripherals,so the screen and possibly KB surround will go white too.
this will house the AMD 9750 and my 6870 and serve as a budget gaming rig and general browsing pc

The 900,i'm undecided on color
black and blue is done to death,but im also not a neon sign glow kinda guy.blacked out has been done.
My luck is that its already primed as its an abandoned project,only plastics will have to be done if i decide to switch from black.
this will house my 1100t,

paint being purchased today and sanding begins this weekend.

I get the feeling this is going to end in a custom wc loop

Ran out of bloody paint.hence the black panel.that will be sanded and sprayed this week.
First coat of gloss black in on the enforcer.
Will be wet sanding and redoing that this week too

ermagherd....what a job sanding is,have i mentioned i'm arthritic old bugger...what a schlep
due to lazy prep i spent my evening soaking 6 coats of enamel paint off my enforcer side panel with turps and scraping the remainder off with an old credit card.
a few more cans of rustoleum and i have spent the equivalent of of a replacement case off carb.

On a lighter note,hehehe...the white case is coming along nicely.
I have wet sanded the first enamel coat after a 3 day dry and will spray the second coat this evening,starting to look like a side panel from a stove,not a pc,but hey...its not my choice.
The black enamel looks amazing,deep gloss,almost mirror,will be full mirror by this weekend.
entire side panel was fine,one corner orange peeled and i couldn't wet sand it out,so i started again.
down to powder coating again,so a final wet sand to get rid of the last enamel and a few minor scratches and it will get another coat of hi gloss black enamel.

well,i am my own worst enemy
being irritated by minor orange peel i decide to buff my 2 day old spray job on the enforcer side panel slightly,slip and gouge a chunk out with my thumbnail...promptly spray over and the whole damn thing is now lumpy and screwed up...so
wet sand tomorrow and repaint,for the last time...after than i give up,will find a more diy orientated PE soul to help or scrap the damn thing and buy a new case
never really liked the enforcer anyway and it doesnt fit my h100i properly ;p

ironically,the white Antec 900 looks phenominal,and i will be lightly wet sanding and applying the final coat colour this evening.

Antec looks okay,but the age of the case means its banged and dented in a few places.so the finish annoys me.
Some sanding and clear coat to finish before the build

Still havent found a suitable dvd rom bracket to replace the bays,lian li only make 2+ slots,and its too big for my liking.
Can make my own but that would involve drilling the case outside of standard mounting position,which as yet i havent done.
everything bay wise can be replaced,re riveted and we are back to stock

Nah,not just you....it sucks...
got dark as i was finishing,and using the last drops of paint in the can are a no no
sandpaper is waiting for the weekend to sand down and re coat.
Purely to see how the white leds will work.
Top stiffy drive bay cover will also be removed for the dvd rom

Partial update,partial surrender.
The white antec 900 should be finished by this weekend.sanded and third colour coat drying.
Have run into a wall with psu after finding the spare and discovering its older than the hills. Rocking a 20pin atx and zero sata power...


My "oh lets do this gloss black while im busy with the antec" enforcer is a lost cause. ..so much so I collect my 600t tomorrow.
After the third total resand and redo I give up.
I forever know gloss black pc cases are beyond me.once I swallow and digest the cost of the 600t I will look at having the enforcer professionally painted

thanks [MENTION=988]Kuga[/MENTION],didnt expect to find them nearly as easily in PE

On a side note HOLY Crap those fans are bright!

I like the carbon wrapped keyboard. Looks good. Should do some cable management though

Have to ask, where did you get the wrap from? If you have any left over let me know. Would like to wrap my cards. Have had someone draw me a design for a backplate, but I'll lose my warranty the way I want to mount it

The antec 900 v1 is bad enough cable management wise for me to consider a psu bay cover,and hell,I have the vinyl

Not too sure on the dimensions. I've got the cad drawings with me, can measure.

Going into work in the next hour. Should do them management as you add stuff in, so its not a huge job when everything is in.

Planning a psu bay cover next. Case just doesnt ha e room behind the board for psu cables.makes routing a nightmare.
There was a good reason I retired this case...its archaic
Accelero xtreme 3 has arrived for the 6870 so that will go in tonight

Black dvd rom is temporary,want to mod a slot dvd rom into the top tray and put a third fan in the front panel.
Also looking at replacing the perspex and mesh with a bigger perspex window

Check Maizy Plastics in Korsten. Where I got my black perspex from to make my download rig and my cable-hide-o-matic thingy. They had a TON of different colors to choose from.

No probs,the trick to ridges and funny corners is heat,the girlfriend's hairdryer worked perfectly on low.
