Quite a hard question to answer really. Signal definitely drops off when going through a wall. I'd say two walls is fine, three is okay, and four is probably out. That's my experience. Also just to note this AP ideally placed in the ceiling

While I love my Unifi APs... radio waves are radio waves and so if you have expectations of this magically beaming through several walls... you will most likely be disappointed. Where the benefit comes... you can have more than one of these around your house, it will appear as one SSID and you get to roam seamlessly between access points.
