Hi folks. What would you say is the easiest and most cost effective way to transfer my Mini DV videos onto my PC. The camera I have is the Sony Handycam DCR-PC101E. I used to be able to transfer to my Mac pro via Firewire. Unfortunately I no longer have that machine.
Any ideas?

If you've got something that can play them to an RCA out (that red, white and yellow cable) then you could get one of these Link here

I bought one fairly recently to do some VHS tapes and it worked quite well. I would recommend using alternative software though (used Camtesia myself) since the stuff it comes with is barf worthy.

The only output is firewire apparently. Will look into it though. Thanks

If you have a desktop just buy a PCI card that has firewire
