Your title suggests investing but this statement hints more towards trading, if you don't plan on holding a share for more than a couple years you are not a investor, you are a trader.
Nothing wrong with that, just don't feel yourself in thinking you are a "investor".

I used to sit up for hours reading financial content and attempt to predict movements, only to realize that even the majority of active managers with waaaaay more resources than I have struggle to beat the market index.
Now I just buy a set amount of very diversified ETF's every month (VT, VTI) and call it a day, statistically I will beat 80%+ of active funds with enough time.
It's not exciting, but the truth is, for retail investors such as ourselves it shouldn't be, boring is good

Indeed, due to being unregulated, there are a lot of people out of their depth, or just plain scammers in that area. Current state of affairs makes it feel more like gambling than investing.

To the newbies or people that cannot afford to lose money (or if you refer to your portfolio when in reality it is a maxxed CC and an overdrawn savings account), stay very far away.
