*If it were 2010.
Now, instead of going out to pasture, these older girls are looking for a new human to love and enjoy them.
Having sat in a cupboard for years, I decided to put together full machines.
I do recommend slapping an SSD into them as whilst I was building and testing, the difference in performance is night and day when compared with a HDD.
I'd go as far as to say that with an SSD, you wouldn't know you were running 10 year old tech when in windows or browsing the web or watching youtube.
I have also made them as quiet and as awesome as possible. I think these could be great as HTPC's.
Windows 7 and all updates done on both full builds and latest bios versions.
You'll just need to activate windows on your side.

If you take the AMD machine, I'll throw in an Athlon II x3 455 CPU - Guaranteed working.
It's a 3-Core CPU but the 4th core can be unlocked with the right board.
I'll include the board I have with it, but I am not sure what is wrong with it. It powers on but won't post.
You are welcome to try get it running again.
Like I said, the CPU is 100% working.
