Position Wanted: Starting job in Software development / IT Technician
Employment type: Permanent
Salary: To be negotiated
Starting Date / Notice Period: Immediately
Location: Cape Town, Northern Suburbs / but able to work most places in Cape Town
Job experience/skill: Nothing in this specific industry, but I have 17+ years experience in Concrete Manufacturing

Just completed a Software Development course through IT Academy, should receive full certification in the next day or so and will update my LinkedIn profile with the certification.
I do understand that my experience do not match the work opportunity I am looking for, but I do believe my experience will be beneficial to any company I work for.
One thing I learned while working in the industry is that you never stop learning, which is why I valued every person I worked with over the years, no matter their position or qualification. Unfortunately, with the current economic climate, the company I worked for recently had to look at down scaling which is why my job position was viewed as redundant and I was retrenched.
To try and better myself by doing something I’ve always been more passionate about (computers) I enrolled in a Software Development course through IT Academy. Even with this certificate behind my name, I really need to get the opportunity to get into the industry to better myself as theoretical knowledge can only help you so far.
I'm passionate about helping the company I work with become more socially aware / responsible. There is so much we can do to limit our impact on the environment and many of these changes will come with not just a - feel good about yourself - feeling of satisfaction but an actual monetary reward for acting responsibly.
I may not be an expert, but I've learned that with experience comes an expanded frame of reference which simplify reasoning and decision making in the most logical manner.
