So what LED's do you use?

Consider it well before you take the plunge. I had a bunch of blue LED fans in my PC (not even LED strips) and the light was intense enough to distract me when playing dark games. Too much light isn't a good thing. My new case is all plain except for two white LED fans on the CPU cooler. Well, it will be, I just collected it all.

I bought led strips at a china shop for so cheap compared to the prices pc shops ask and rips you off. Just added a molex connector and its excellent :)

Hey guys, thinking of adding some blue LED's to my rig, what type do you use inside the chassis?

Are these the norm?

I've got a similar set, made by BitFenix.

If you position the LED's correctly, they can produce an ambient glue. Might be better to point the LED's at a flat surface, within the case, to allow for a 'softer' light distribution.

I'll be uploading photos within the next day or two, showing 2x of these strips in action :)

Awesome... I will be getting one.. I think its is a cleaner layout.. But tell me, where in the case did you mount the card? Top or bottom?

Strange. Their advertised numbers worked fine last week still.

Mounting wise, you could try and mount the LED strip next to your intake fans, against the inside of case (front), with the LED's shining towards the back of the case.

Depending how you have your case situation at your desk/station/etc, the LED light should just be lighting up the internals of the case (and obviously outside if you have a window), but at least you don't get this mega bright glare cooking your eyeballs.

Hell I just wish I could get through to them, Im in centurion, but cant take off from work for long, so I need to be sure they open... Their phones has that automated voice system, and no matter what you select, the line drops.. And the mobile number on the site is also off

Rather try Titan Ice. It seems Evetech will be closed for a full week.

I got the 2m nzxt led white strip from evetech. Comes with nice little clips with double sided tape on for those tricky corners and they very strong where normal tape would fall off.

Really happy with the lights nice and bright depending which way you angle the bulbs too shine.

I got this roll of leds from Futurelight. I specifically chose the 3528 leds instead of the 5050 type as they are not nearly as bright. Add a couple of these connectors and you're sorted.
You can also get a dimmer for them and they have full RGB options with remote control etc if you're feeling fancy.
The benefit of strips like that is you can trip them as long or short as you like, and they're a fraction of the cost of the off-the-shelf stuff.

I'm happy with the results; just need to clean up the red & black connector cables and sort out one or two mistakes like top left...

Mine's looking like this now, after installing everything this weekend:

What's new in my system is:

BitFenix Neos Window case
Zalman CNPS10X Cooler to fit in the case (212+ was too tall)
2 x Cooler Master JetFlo 120mm white LED fans immediately fitted to the Zalman cooler
3 x BitFenix Spectre 120mm white fans (no LEDS) - 2 in the front and 1 in the back, visible behind the CPU cooler

I also moved the standard BitFenix case fan that came with the case into my PSU. The Zalman cooler doesn't even come close to the 212+, but that's a sacrifice I made to have it fit in the case. I quite love that case.

The window emits a soft white glow out the window. Nothing too bright and most definitely less bright than the 6 blue LED fans I had in my last case. Quieter as well.

Just to add my 2c here. I just bought 2 LED strips from a car mod shop and they work 100% and were cheap cheap, like 80 bucks for a 40cm strip. The thing is, I also had a nice touchscreen fan controller from my previous rig, but my XPredator chassis also has 2 fan speed control dials up top. So I kept the fans on the controller and hooked up the lights to the case dials. Now they act like a dimmer switch and when the lights get a bit much I just turn them down.

Wow thT sounds awesome.. How did u hook them up?

Super simple actually, the case speed controller just had a molex to hook up the fans, so i stripped the connector off the led strips and replaced with molex. Boom, dimmer switch.

I'll take one or two when i get home this evening, got nothing on my work pc.
