SLi Advice - Same card different manufacturers

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to clarify something with regards to SLi.

Can you SLi for example 2 X 1080'. Eg. Gigabyte founders and G1 Gaming? is this supported ?

Problem is I am having a hard time trying to find another 1080 FE card and I have all the prerequisites to SLi. HX1000 psu X470-F mobo etc.

I have heard and read about not SLi'ng but hell its just for the fun of it. Want to get it out my system.

It's possible to SLI two different brands if the memory clocks are the same - possible doesn't mean it will work though.
@Petester offers the best advise - SLI is dead - more trouble than it's worth these days

Oh well. Guess rather just get something badder and prettify the case instead. Thanks though for letting me know.
