I have done some dabbling with mining over the last month or so and now started to run some numbers to determine the optimal GPU/price for the best returns on your investment.
As everyone already knows, the GPU with the best value for money is the RX-470 (or as it is now renamed the RX-580.) It is really difficult to beat that price point, or is it? That got me thinking and tinkering to find the price for each the GPU based on its mining potential.
This is the price of a GPU when it delivers the same return on investment for me that the RX-470. I used the going rate of RX-470 on Carbs of R2600, I get the following sJBs' Mining GPU Equivalent Price (SEEP):
What is interesting is that the 970 looks like it is even better than an RX 470! The ones marked in yellow is trading only at a 10% premium over the SEEP, and the ones in orange 20%. Thus, if you can negotiate or pick it up at a reduced price (SEEP or better), it will be a great deal.
Have anyone else done something similar?
