Awesomenessness.

Wow, I have never seen these fish before.
yeah, I love these little guys, Frontosa's was ultimately the reason I got into the fishkeeping hobby and took me many years before I could work up to keeping them, then I saw these guys as well. I want one more school of fish to complete my setup but unfortunately these buggers way out of my league when it comes to pricing. They are called "Cyprichromus Leptosoma" aka fresh water sardines lol. They like the neons/"dither" fish for bigger fish-keeping hobbyists.

This dudes got some nice advice and views on lake Tang Cichlids

Probably the Raphael... they're cool, I have one that's still trucking at 16 years old, been keeping fish for around 28 years now.
Had no idea they lived this long ... Super Chilled fish, haha

Small update on my main tank, added in a nice piece of dritwood to give the large open space in the front some more character (as well as hold up the pothos 😆) and the fish love it 🤩

New 90L tank in new apartment. Currently has 20 neon tetras, 4 kuhli loaches and a hill stream loach (will get more his buddies died when I bought them). Busy cultivating more plants emersed and will add them when most of them have settled in.

What's with the lack of amazing variety of fish being imported , did a new law stop imports or something?

I used to get amazing quality fancy gold fish breeds but now everything has been pretty pathetic lately.

Anyone notice this or is this just a Durban thing?

Found these guys last week were pretty well equipped on the marine side

So just got my 3ft (90 litre) tank going. After many years of not having a tank.

Any advise with regards to getting a good lighting setup for the tank?

Maybe someone can advise me perhaps on using led strip with controller ? That's what I'm thinking

Last I remember was using a a flourescent tube with those big grey transformer tank fittings :ROFLMAO:

You get proper LED lights for aquariums that can either be in the tube form factor or a flat style that basically clips onto the top of the aquarium frame. They're pricey once-off, but last much longer than the old fluorescent tubes with ballasts, which add up over time.

I use a smart plug for my lights on a timer, but there are dedicated timers as well.

Is it a planted tank? Or just fish?
Expensive LED grow lights (sunlight spectrum simulating) if planted.
Else cheap LED strips from China mall can suffice.
