In the wake of my 2 previous threads concerning my recent import, there has been quite a few requests for a combined import (to save delivery costs/admin).

This is a feeler to see how many of you would like to join the import.

I'll be facilitating it, so please pm me if you are interested.

The site we'll be ordering from only stocks Sennheiser products, is an authorized sennheiser dealer and has a reputation for outstanding service.

I've personally ordered from them and can honestly say it's the best e-tailer I've ever dealt with (shipping to SA in 3 days from payment )

Savings range from a few hundred Rand to several thousand, depending on the model you choose.

A lot of you have asked me to wait (mainly deciding on which model to order), so I'm setting the preliminary date for joining the order to friday the 20th (pm me if you want to order sooner).

A lot of you have inquired towards shipping costs, at the current rates (based on volume and weight) it should work out to around $25 per item ordered (I'll keep you guys updated as the order progresses).

Take the PC 360, unless you intend getting an amplified sound card such as Xonar ST/X / Xense.

PC 350 are 150Ohm. This means they require some amplification.

PS 360 are 50Ohms, meaning they get about enough power from a normal 3.5mm jack (outputs ±40Ohm).

For starters and a cheap price, for something like the PC 360 (or HD5xx which are also 50Ohm), I'd recommend the Xonar U3 USB amplified sound card. However this cannot drive PC 350's.

I don't want to go off topic here, but all the sennheisers I've used over the years have been fairly easy to drive.

This includes my 300Omhs HD650, it's been driven by my onboard at the moment and (volume wise a lot louder than on my xonar ST) it's still magical.

Anything under 300Omhs will be just fine with a modern mobo (volume wise), rather spend more on a decent set of cans and get a better source (dac/amp) later.

Un-amped PC 350's don't give gamers such a great experience. To reach the volume/bass level desired, amplification is needed. I'm talking specifically for the PC 350 here.
