Hello,

Today was the first time I burned my fingers...
[MENTION=37324]*UnknowNSoldieR*[/MENTION] "(Johan (JR) Janse van Rensburg from Kimberley)" and I made a deal for his ASUS screen, where I would pay him R1800 + my LG screen which would then be collected by the courier when they delivered his ASUS to me.

Unfortunately I trusted his word, paid the money over, only to have him block me on whatsapp when I started inquiring as to the details of the screens delivery etc.

He subsequently blocked my husband as well when he started asking him the same questions.

Sad excuse for a human being like this really grates my carrot.

I hope this thread can forewarn other potential victims.

According to truecaller his/her name is Boitumelo Lehohla but once you go to the police and make a case, you should make a photocopy of the reported case and take it along to the bank and get more details if possible.

I suspect it was a Groenewald, they have moved over to identity fraud recently and it could be someone elses phone they used to do commit the scam with.

I hope the following info will help others as well so we can track this guy down this was giving by Checkers as to the person who collected the money from the store bearing in mind you need an original ID to collect the cash.

I didnt get scammed, but he did try his luck with me. I told him my way or the highway. He was like wow he couldnt believe that i dont trust him. He even contacted me again the next day to ask ok how can we do this deal so i said again you sent i receive i test and when im happy ill do eft. He was like i need the cash urgent so i said sorry no deal.

I think it's a lot less work, TBH.

Step 1: Draft a good scam message.
Step 2: Send to all newbies.
Step 3: Sit back and wait for the money to come in.

The number he gave me was also 076 555 4617, I'm guessing this number can be tracked down since to have a number it must be RICA which was designed to prevent these kinds of scams mainly, anyways I'm gonna make a case and see if the police can obtain the video footage of him at the shoprite money market because it might be more than one person in on this scamming business.
