Hey guys,

Latest CUD purchase is Samsung 32" WQHD CJG50. So far I have been blown away by this monitor. Only "hassle" I have is that when I shut my PC down the monitor goes into standby mode but then wakes up again and begins searching for a source. It does this for a minute or two then goes back to sleep. Is there something I'm missing or is this just how this monitor is?

I have a friend with the 27" model and it does the same, just doesn't seem to bug him as it bugs me.

I had a 23" Syncmaster Samsung before and it used to shut down with the PC so just have that as the norm in my mind.

TIA for any and all advice.

In your monitors OSD menu, if you have this option, try changing the input source detection to manual if it is on auto.

I have a 27” CFG70 with the same problem. I have to remove the power connector from the back of the monitor every morning in order for it to switch on. Tried all settings in the OSD menu including sleep function but nothing. I came across a post recently that mentioned try plugging the power directly to the wall socket opposed to a multi-plug. Haven’t tried it yet because lockdown and @SILTECH786 have made me fat and lazy.

@cm101 I have the same issue with my monitor ( 24" CFG70) not automatically turning on when the PC is turned on ( after leaving it plugged in overnight for example) but instead of taking the plug out and putting it back in, I just press the power button on the monitor and select the source and it works again.

@Star_22 Gave your method a go this morning, prior to switching the PC on I noticed the blue LED on. Switched the pc on and attempted to enter the OSD menu by using the toggle button at the back of the monitor. The screen remains black doesn't bring up the menu or source select function unfortunately. After removing the power cord it works again :(

Morning,

This was my first thought as well, that just prevents it from scanning through all its options. Think the only standby option I saw was for the indication LED (either on with the screen or on when screen is on standby)

@Star_22 you were right! My problem was that I wasn't manually switching the monitor off after shutting down everyday.

I called a Samsung repair center this morning and spoke to a tech who deals with monitors. He giggled when I gave him the model number so I knew then and there what his response would be. He was able to offer a solution which isn't a complete fix but it helped my situation. Once you shutdown your PC manually shutdown the monitor from the monitor menu. Once you switch your PC on again manually start up the monitor by clicking the button at the back of the monitor.

I've tried this a couple of times this morning and it seems to work well. Avoids having to remove the power cable on every boot.

I have seen this issue as well, its a problem with the board that runs the display panel. As far as i know, solution is replace board
