I dont actually have the documents for it so not sure if MTN would fix it. It is their phone and the IMEI is registered on MTN but not sure. I can contact the guy I initially swapped with it if you want.

I had a problem with an S6 Edge I bought. MTN wanted me to provide proof of purchase. Told me to walk away if I don't have it. This was MTN Service Centre in Midrand.

Maybe they recognised you and so wanted to trick you into troubling you to travel.

If it was bought at an MTN store initially, a repair center can print a duplicate receipt in order to book it in.

They did that for me in Midrand a few years back
