Hello,

I've managed to get a Vertcoin Network 1 public p2p node up and running http://105.226.144.50:9171/static/
Rejected hash is at about 0.5% compared to the 13% global average.

sgminer (ati/amd): sgminer.exe --no-submit-stale --kernel Lyra2REv2 -o 105.226.144.50:9171 -u Your_VTC_Payout_Address -p x --gpu-platform 1 -I 18 -g 8 -w 32 --verbose

ccminer (nvidia): ccminer.exe -a lyra2v2 -o 105.226.144.50:9171 -u Your_VTC_Payout_Address -p x

OneClickMiner (nvidia {Ease of Use}): Add Pool: Pool address- stratum+tcp://105.226.144.50:9171; Password- x ; Wallet address- Your_VTC_Payout_Address

More info at https://vertcoin.org

If you're already mining Vertcoin come on over. If not just have a look around their website.
It's the 4th most profitable coin for my set up according to whattomine.com.

Full disclosure: there is a 1% node fee that goes to me but as far as I can tell I'm the only node in Africa right now and it's lonely. :)

Hope to see some of you over there. If you need any help getting set up let me know.

Cheers

Note: I've still got to talk to Telkom about getting a static IP. Until that's sorted, on the off chance the node does go down check back here for the new IP.

Are you the Vcv.... address? Looks like your at about 3% rejected.

That's good. The smaller hashes at like 10Mh/s are the miner dev fees which mine for a few min/day. That gets subtracted from our main hashes while running.

New ip
Will talk to telkom tomorrow.

Unfortunately not. The devs are still working on an optimised amd miner, maybe when that's out in three weeks-ish.

Sorry I managed to get hold of a static IP but to find some one competent enough at Telkom to help me set it up... Well that was a lost battle... I am working on it tho.

Current ip http://105.184.120.147:9171

Not yet. Looks like the tech will be here Monday. Set a failover address in case it changes again.

It went down once today. The node hung like the miners do sometimes but it reset it's self. What problems are you having?

New IP

105.225.20.253:9171

Hopefully static IP tomorrow.

Ahhh. I wish they'd let me know when it changes.. New - 105.228.75.166:9171

I'm paying R50 for a static IP but god forbid I find someone at telkom who can actually help set it up. I'm looking at setting getting a cloud server for it at the end of the month. We'd need just over 1 Gh/s per second for it to pay for it's self. If telkom doesn't come through I'll set that up after payday. Apologies for any losses.

Good news everybody!! Carbonite Toady001 has lent us space on his work server to set up a more permanent node!

The address is as follows- 168.253.67.6:9171

Coming across now. Just giving my rig a dust.

I'm struggling to set up the one click or sgminer. I've set port forwarding (9346-9347 I think correctly) and put in the address. On 1click miner I click start and it starts (says "waiting for share") but not even a second later it stops.

The sgminer opens the .exe file but then instantly closes so I don't even get to put in the mining pool details. Am I forgetting to do something?

I do have Kaspersky installed, but it hasn't indicated any issues with the files or programmes compared to the monero miner where it quarantined almost immediately

Are you trying to run your own node? You need to forward 9171 and 9181 ports for the miners. 9346 & 9347 are just for node connections
