We’re missing a whole heap of information.

If it’s just between those two, the 5600x performs the same as an 8 core CPU so it’s a monster.

price is key though and if the Intel is 25% faster but performance is close enough to the AMD that you won’t notice, get the Intel.

My old 1155 motherboard died so i need to replace cpu + mb + ram,
I have about 10k to drop, so looking to spend around 5-6k on the cpu and these two seem to be the best value for money at the moment
Any other suggestion is welcome
i see the 5600x is on special here at 5.6k: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Hex Core CPU with SMT, Unlocked Multiplier, Socket AM4, 3.7GHz (4.6GHz Boost)

Hi

I can possibly assist with your requirements will have a look a tad later or you can pm me ciao.

If it's as simple as picking between the two, I'd say the 5600X is a better option.

AMD has proven itself to be the best with Ryzen 5000.

I also gathered that you keep your parts for a long time, seeing as you are upgrading from LGA1155 only after your board broke.

With the AM4 platform, you'd only have to upgrade the CPU in a couple years, with the option of 16 core. On the Intel platform you'd only be able to go up to 8 core.

You definitely don't need to spend too much on a motherboard either. A nice B550 board with a decent RAM kit should be well within your budget.
