Item Wanted : Ryzen 5 5500. Yes, I know the 5600/x is better, but I'm going for value for money and pairing it with a 3060ti. I found the 5500 for 2k on takealot, but next day price went up.. , so I'm sure I can get one used for 1.5k from someone upgrading. Yes the l3 cache is half, but I am coming from an i7 7700 so it will be a huge improvement. If you really feel it's that important to pay 2300 instead please let me know as I'm really on the fence here. Many thanks for reading, lol.

Search Ryzen 5 5600X vs Ryzen 5 5500 on youtube you will see easily

Yea I did, the fps seem to differ a lot with different games, on average 10% difference, sometimes more

1. Mobo?
2. Gaming resolution?

5500 is a great budget CPU at the right price. 2k new is a reasonable price IMHO, any more and a 2nd hand 5600/x is not far off but is far superior under the hood as opposed to simply looking at gaming FPS.

5600/x has more L3 cache, PCIE4 (mobo and ssd/GPU need to support PCIE4 aswell).

Yea, I'm just really comparing the fps as I'll only be using it for gaming. B450 and 1080p. Got a good deal on the board and didn't see a big difference in pcie4 for the price difference.

As I recall the 3600 and it are pretty much the same on performance but is also Pcie 4.0 compatible.
