Original Heatsink of Twin Turbo III never added to card. You can if you want to. Makes card even thicker, but possible even cooler.
Been playing CSGO on this card for a year. Amazeballs. Tried mining for two weeks, just seems like too much damn effort. Flashed BIOS with improved RAM timings. (1750 in 2000 timings only.)
But in that vein, if it is interesting to you, the card gets 29.x M/hashes mining Ethereum and dualcred at 0.8 ish. Underclocked GPU to 1200 Mhz at 1070, memory overclocked to 2130 at 1000.
Also, this is a 4GB card that I bios flashed, perfectly, to an 8GB card. Thank you AMD for letting me download more RAM. Can flash the card back to Stock 8GB Bios if you only want to game with it, and mining also seems like too much of an effort to you.
And yes, it works perfectly. Detects and works as an 8GB card. I messed around with Firestrike a year ago to look at stable overclocks. Can overclock to 1330 stable easily, and you can play CSGO there if you want. Pretty sure it can go further, especially if you want to give it more Volts. Benchmarked at 1370.
...after which I started laughing at myself, as I didn't need a card that fast, as CSGO runs on a potato, and promptly undervolted and underclocked the card. Slower and cooler. On an already cool card.
I plug the cooler fan in on a 7V plug, and it runs at 50% speed all the time. Mines at +- 49Celsius Eth only, +- 59C Dual Eth/Decred. My case fans are more loud, and they are on slowest speed.
Looks almost exactly like this photo, except I modified the stock card heatsink so I could leave it on for extra VRM and VRAM cooling.View attachment 67536
Card takes more than one slot, with the cooler on it is Thick. But cool. And quiet.
Now, this is a feeler. If anyone wants this card with this cooler at this price, perfect. Here's for hoping towards my 1440p fund! Can play CSGO with onboard GPU for a while. Or return to playing BG2. Hah!
