I want to get this going again, last time ended up better than expected. Benching my Xeons against Neo got me excited about overclocking again. It was the first time I've hit the BIOS on my board in over a year and it was a whack of fun breaking past my old wall of 204 MHz BCLK.

I'm going to see if I can get work to sponsor a prize of sorts, no guarantees though. If they won't, I'll get something as a prize. Maybe some RAM or games on Steam or something.

Andrew, I don't know if you're at all interested but if you are do you have any pots you'd be willing to give as a prize?

Neo, I don't know if you have any weight with local suppliers anymore? Maybe through NAG? Sending anything from that side would be prohibitively expensive unless sent with another parcel.

I am going to refrain from competing this time as I got some negativity for winning last time even though the prize was sent to someone else.

Anyway, which benchmarks this time? I'm thinking SuperPi, PiFast, XTU, MaxxMem and Cinebench R15. 2D only this time? 4.2 GHz limit on Haswell and what on Ivy Bridge? I haven't pitted them against each other but I'm thinking 4.5 GHz on Ivy Bridge?

I like the way HWBOT does things, I think spreading the benchmarks out to one per week or every two weeks would keep the excitement going for longer.

If you guys aren't interested or simply can't help, no worries at all. I plan to do this regardless, of course any input would be appreciated, especially when it comes to clockspeeds. I've been completely out of the loop since I was on Sandy Bridge and this dog needs to learn some new tricks :D

Sounds good. I am snowed under with so much work and prep for rAge etc and MOA and I suspect it's the same for Andrew but I'll let him speak for himself

I don't mind sponsoring some prizes though. CPU coolers, SSDs, Memory etc

Yeah timing doesn't suit me right now either (financially, unexpected bills suck), I'm thinking in the next few months. Once it's setup I probably have the most free time of the three of us so I don't mind handling the admin - keeping the thread up to date, double checking scores are valid, etc.

i will help where i can.
if you are interested i have something to work on right now with a company interested in putting some prizes forward.

i need to do a proposal still but they are interested in running a online comp of sorts. only one hardware restriction on the brand of memory used with prize handover on the last day of rage,

i was thinking with a bias towards the average JO more of a chance to get a prize just for entering and then only the top three get something nice. like a ssd of something
wanted to do it with HWbot using there comp engine

we can use this opportunity to kick off the carb interest and if we get enough ppl to take part the chances are we can get badget to do this every year before rage.

Eh, permissions must have been fucked when we changed to XenForo. This was never meant for the open and was limited to the three of us.
