Some info I thought obvious but isn't stated:

This comes with the original 2 spout portafilter, double basket, blind basket.

The standard tamper also included.

I also did the shower screen mod.
Machined a part to allow for a counterink screw.

No more bolt head impressions in the Puck 😀

Considering that: people actually drink Ricoffy, think Nescafé & Jacobs are posh, love their Nespresso pods, claim their pressurized portafilter is an actual espresso machine, beleive they've arrived with a bean to cup, or rave about Starbucks or their local hipster barrista's flat white - I suspect many people know diddely squat as to how a properly dialed in draw from a proper Italian espresso machine can taste as sublimely complex as a posh wine... Drinking coffee just for the caffeine, is like drinking wine just for the alcohol - something you should have moved on from, upon receiving your first paycheck.

As for me, still just window shopping..

I think you're right.... It's also a lot of money to drop on something like this. Bean prices have also almost doubled since covid times. Reee

I don't think it is an unreasonable amount to drop on such a complete, quality setup - that is, IF you know what good coffee is. I've got a Gaggia machine & grinder and would not part with them and my one divine cup of coffee a day. Honestly, I think you'll miss it terribly. And James Hoffmann agrees. If you know, you know.

Ah the coffee snob arrives like clockwork, a month late because he was busy making a single cup of coffee "just right".

Look it's a great machine and grinder but like above said most people aren't willing to go that distance for a good cup of coffee. For most people their local coffee shop is good enough. South African Starbucks sucks though... and a bean to cup is as far as most who are not intimately involved are willing to go.
